I live up in the north Sweden and have a 4-stroke Arctic cat M1100T And its SUPER easy too Boondocking... I got my first snowmobile when i was 5. Its was an Ockelbo 600!
Amazing video, great quality and really makes me want another snowmobile. I miss the feeling of floating in snow and having some flying on my helmet. Greatest feeling ever.
i am just in love with the feeling of dry powder ingulfing me going through it on my sled. seeing your sled covered in it is just making me tweak for winter to come here in minnesota
that's some good stuff, don't you love living in the middle of a snow-covered area, it's almost the same where i live, but it gets in the 90's in the summer, so snowmobile in winter, and wakeboard in the summer
Just bought the Cat 2012 F800 snow pro limited retro 50th ann. Was out of the sport for about 4 years. Glad to be getting back into it. This is where i would love to go. Im going to the 2012 winter x games this year and bringing the sleds. That cam is a must so I will be buying a helmet cam this year. Nice open riding my friend. Ill just assume you are breaking in your engine.
I would say it takes both skill and confidence to ride off trail in the backcountry like this. I agree it is a steep learning curve. But the dangers in the backcountry vastly overshadow those on the trails. Always go with experienced rides, never go alone, have a avalanche beacon and know how to use it and that the people you are riding with know how to use theirs as well. You will become GREAT best friends with your shovel and learn to "pin it to win it" meaning speed gets you out of bad spots
@workaholic16 Have you ever snowmobiled before? The whole reason the throttle is a progressive action mechanism is to allow the user to immediately adapt to the situation. It's not an on/off gas switch...
@warrenlikesboats I find it easier to control. The clutches shift out too much with a constant throttle. Also it helps throw the sled around if you time it right
@mypierce20 Makes sense. Id do the same thing in that case. Didnt know you wasted half a tank to get there. Still awesome. I live in illinois so no snow yet. But i'll be up in minn, wisc, and mich every other weekend after the holidays. Still wont find snow like that. Well maybe (minus the mountains).I'll have to wait for colorado. Good riding stay safe
@rccrazer camera is in water tight case,, but my go pro is the hd one i beleive they upgraded the sound input,, im pretty sure the motorsports cam is identical to all of them they just come with different mounts
@162adrenalin this video was filmed near onion lake between terrace and kitimat, about 15 mins from town... some of my other videos are filmed up towards the nass. terraces two main areas are located at the end of kalumn lake right in the same range as northern escapes snowcat skiing area... my rzr video is actually filmed up the snowcat skiing trail..
@tyyoung97 yah the phazer would have a blast in this area with the right rider on it.. keep you speed up turn out early , only stop downhill or in your previous sled tracks
Love the vid, already commented on it. Ok so im asking only people who have rode in the mountains. Do you think it would be a good idea to bring a non-mountain sled to the mountains. I have a 2012 F800 Snow Pro. It has a track lenth of 128. With 1 1/2 inch tread. A few people are telling me to wait till the end of the season because my sled wont make it in the powder. What are your thoughts. Thanks
Nice video, really nice snow. I'm going skiing with Northern Escape Heli Ski in March I think I should take my sled and make a week long trip out of it. Where abouts out of Terrace was this shot? Up the Nass?
Hay nice ride and nice riding i would like to suguest that you add more videos ive seen the 4 I could find and i have seen eatch one about 30 times each and i like them stil but i would like to see new ones plz. PS You have snow yet, we do in Ak? o by th way you dont play with the throttle that much
@kevoyeah alright buddy ill take that into consideration but in my defence im taking it easy because a couple snowfalls ago all those gullies and dips were open creek beds 10 to 15 feet down,, last time i broke threw one of those everybody was sick of shoveling and the hole ass end of my sled was underwater up to the gas tank,, if you watch closly in some spots you can see the open holes waiting to be found
@mypierce20 Not when you have a yama turbo 4-stroke x) Honestly, there's no limits for where you can go. Is it just me, or is the steering on Apex and Nytros tough? I've ridden a Ski Doo XP Turbo and M8 HCR Turbo, and my dads' McXpress 330hp++ Apex. The Apex climbs really well, but when it comes to handing in track, the other two are better.
@HeresWhatThink i know.... all those huge bumps and i never saw a single jump taken or the front end really lift off the ground for that matter..... i wish i was there.....
@mypierce20 i know whats the point anyways its called a snowmobile for a reason. its not like it air cooled either it just needs snow to get to the coolers on the tunnel.
@Juajiin small creek bed, but my goggles fogged up earlier and i wasnt stopping to deal with them so i had to use my helmet to stop the powder face shots
@TheLeadDog27x in the right snow conditions you would have a blast, i would wait for hero or spring snow,, if not stay in their tracks and hold it pinned
Dood, i like your sled. I ride two strokes but i rilly like 4 strokes. I herd that thay do better on gas and deffintly on oil and also thay have a crap load of power.
the guy that said you cant ride obviously doesnt know what 4 strokes sound like. Sledding isnt about sound. He's probably a flatlander anyway...most smack talkers are
@workaholic16 i use the throttle to hold my carve, or to help shift my weight.. dont really pay attention to it, i just do what i need to do.... ps if i was concerned about burning gas i would of stayed on the trail... deep bc powder + big mnts= thirsty sled
@mypierce20 My first videos were shot in 720p at 60 frames per second..... NOT as good as 960p! i shot in R4 today (which is 960p at 30 fps) loved it! looks similar to this quality.
@mypierce20 Very beautiful place to drive. I've been riding since I could walk and I'm looking for some perfect places to ride next winter at my vacation. That place looks smoking hot to drive. Nice place to grow up, man. I'm jealous :D
@TheLeadDog27x nopenot breaking it in just riding,, i didnt upload this video because i was going hard core just uploaded it so all the internet sledders can see what a real sledding area looks like.... i burnt over half a tank to get to this spot why the fuck would i hold it to the bar and burn the rest of my gas just to go a little faster,, and honestly in that snow all it does is make more noise,,,, theres days when you can jump and

@rccrazer camera is in water tight case,, but my go pro is the hd one i beleive they upgraded the sound input,, im pretty sure the motorsports cam is identical to all of them they just come with different mounts

Great Vid, that is a awesome meadow!!
@TheLeadDog27x Last year, 2011, I drove an older sled with a 136" and 2" lugs and I had to keep it pinned the entire time to keep moving.
This video is heaven.
