- Russia is aiming to gain air superiority over Ukraine amid a counteroffensive that he sparked off intense battles along the frontline. According to reports which cite U.S. intelligence, Iran is helping Russia to build reverse-engineered Shahed 191 drones. These will allegedly be made at a joint drone factory which Russia is looking to set up in the Republic of Tatarstan. The jet-powered Iranian drone is 60% of the actual size of the original RQ-170 Sentinel, which was reportedly downed by Tehran in 2011, and can carry a payload of 50 kg. Watch how the newest Iranian Shahed drone that is likely to be built at Russia's new factory will change the face of the war.

In current conflict in Ukraine, United States has been "acquiring" Russian hardware and Russia has been "acquiring" American hardware to improve their respective weapons. The RQ-170 drone was not “shot down” but was commandeered by Iranian engineers “hackers” and was safely landed. The Iranian engineers first jammed a US satellite and then took control of the drone.
President Obama decided not to destroy the drone which wouldn't been very easy against the advice of the DOD. Elections have consequences, we get what we deserve.

The U.S. didn't hesitate to do reverse engineering on the Soviet fighter jets, helicopters, along with other weapons which were provided by the former countries of the Warsaw Pact, namely Romania, Ukraine, to quote a few. Thus, America isn't in position to complain, when its captured planes are reverse-engineered by its enemies.
United States also paid large bounties to pilots in Russia, China and the former Warsaw Pact countries to deliver Russian technology to the US. US didn't bother about intellectual property rights then, why should anybody bother about them now if US files stealth drones into another country's airspace.

Iran didn't "shoot-down" the Sentinel one, it was jammed and later grounded deep inside Iran (it was operating above Iran's EASTERN border). The one that Iran shot down was a Global Hawk which entered Iranian air space near Hormuz Straight south of Iran (2018 or 19)
