That shy young woman of The Sweet Inspirations was Sylvia Shemwell (1941-2010). Elvis wanted everyone to have a genuine smile on their faces from his band and backup singers. He noticed during one show in LV that she wasn't smiling. They were in the makeup room and he asked her what was wrong. She said she was diagnosed with cancer. She said Elvis got on his knees with tears running down his face and put his hand on her stomach. He prayed fervently that the Lord would remove the cancer because she had four babies. The next day she related, that after tests, no cancer was present.
Elvis was blessed by God with looks, style, charisma, voice, moves, generosity, etc etc etc! One of his former girlfriends was asked what Elvis would be doing if he was still alive, and she said, preaching the gospel.
That performance is still fantastic even after about 46 yrs! Even with the evolution of live performances….sound, lighting, back up singers, dancers, big screens, stage props and equipment, he is still the King of Rock n Roll!
I NEVER get tired of watching reactors react to Elvis’s live performances. As a life long fan, it’s such a joy watching people discover the talent, charisma, stage presence, style, sound and unparalleled talents of Elvis Presley. It’s something true fans have known all along. If everyone would take the time to discover the real essence of the magic of Elvis, i truly believe this world would be a better place. Really enjoyed watching your reaction here and I hope your journey has just begun.
I'm so glad you noticed his knees. Most people don't. Haven't been around that stuff, that takes so much core strength and conditioning. But he had been that way since he was a teen. Look at some of the stuff when he's 20 years old in 1956 and it's way crazier. But mostly it just seems like he loved poking fun with his band and his audience. I've seen some behind the scenes footage of rehearsals and stuff and he's just a total goofball. He's highly demanding but then again his band and his backup singers are so top level. They're also talented and gifted and they love them and they watch him and deal with the fact that he is unpredictable. And they have a lot of fun on stage just like he screws around with the audience. What a phenomenal character.
How many other singers can you say have such hardcore fans 45 years after their death. One of my friends from high school was a hardcore fan. He loaned me a tape called "this is Elvis." Learned so much about him from that 1 video. I ended up buying the DVD version 20 years later while watching the Elvis biopic by Buzz Lurman in the middle of the movie.
He conducts the band. And he and the drummer were having an 8th note competition. As a former professional dancer the triple spin back to center stage is amazing! Also before he passed he was about to test for his 8th black belt. For his early dance style check out Jail House Rock.
That spin he does back to center is amazing. Idk if everyone misses it or what but no one seems to comment on that much and I’m always blown away by his energy, coordination, how much he is able to do during each song. It’s crazy. He gave his all in every single performance
@@ronnie73072 Totally. The first time I saw that triple spin back to center I’m sure my jaw dropped to the floor. The other thing people don’t seem to talk much about is the ending where he slowly goes to the floor as the light dims and then the lights go back up but he’s in a standing position which he had to have done really fast. He’s just ridiculously amazing. He is unbelievable between the voice, how handsome he is, his movements and total command of the stage. He’s mesmerizing.
The "shove it up your nose" line was not an actual lyric in the sing. Elvis loved to throw in random lines to see if we in the audience caught them....lol. I attended 2 of his concerts. That man had so much energy and charisma that it was like an explosion on stage even when he was standing semi-still. Even 11 year old me was mesmerized.
He would get down until he was practically level with the stage, and then sing, "I hope this suit don't tear up, baby..." And millions of girls hoped it would...Another line he would sometimes pull out was after he sang, "...You know I'd never lie to you..." He would grin and sing, "...No, not much..."
He was an 8th degree Black Belt under Ed Parker . And Ed's other famous Black Belt is Guru Dan Inosanto, who was also Bruce Lee's best friend and who Bruce turned JKD over to before he moved back to China to start his movie career .
Quite an unusual artist wasn’t he. He never ceased to surprise people. The girls he approached were his background singers “The Sweet Inspirations” He stuck up for them if anyone gave them a hard time because they were blacks. He was to sing at the Astrodome in Texas & they told him to leave the “Black Girls Home”. He said if they don’t come I don’t come. So, just to stick the knife in their backs and twist it a bit more, he made a blonde girl drive them around the Stadium in an open car as to say” look everyone, there not only here but on display for you to accept it. They tell this story themselves and how he showed his love to everyone regardless of looks, skin color or status. Thanks so much. It was fun watching people’s reactions when first watch Elvis. He’s never the same twice. I’m going to become a new subscriber so I can watch more. 🎸🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻🎸👍🏻❤️
It’s always fun as hell to someone in my generation to watch young women nowadays discovering Elvis, and learning exactly why their mothers and grandmothers went absolutely nuts over this guy. As the late, great guitarist/singer Jerry Reed said upon meeting him, “God DAMN, you are one beautiful man!“
Love your Joy !! That’s why Elvis was and is the greatest entertainer ever !! I was blessed to see Elvis every time he was in Las Vegas !! Again I really enjoy listening to you !! I have been an Elvis fan since 1956 ! His gospel songs I try to play every Sunday!

Elvis gave us everything in him. Maybe that's why we could see his soul. A gift to humanity from above, even if it was for only a short period of time. When he was tired God took him home.

Now, if you want to see some other sides of him, do the If I can Dream with him in a white suit, Bridge over troubled water in a white suit and the last concert How Great Thou Art when he was heavy. That will blow your mind.
Just have to say that a lot of what people thought was fat, was bloating due to medicines he was taking for different physical problems, and water retention. He had real, serious medical issues. Sometimes he should have been in bed with medical care, instead of on stage performing.
Like number 8 my freind. What a great and awesome reaction. Yes I subscribed . How could I not. You did this video justice, with your reaction. Cant wait to see more👍🏻🎸🎵🎶🎵🎶🙂

Elvis was a black belt in karate. One his jumpsuits mimic a karate gi and two, he incorporates karate moves into his performances.
Elvis had it all. 🤩🤩🤩 Awesome to see a new generation fall in love with him.
