I am a thirteenth generation American of English ancestry from North Carolina in the Appalachian Mountains. I was raised on this sound not knowing anything about it except it was my family playing the tunes. I'm grateful for them and for all of the great Scottish musicians who shared it with us all those many years ago.

Lovely playing and listening! Please consider adding titles of the set tunes somewhere. I can make out "Going down to Cairo" and "Booth Shot Lincoln is obvious...but what else is there? I have the same issue with some of your other sets.

@twaasheds "Booth Shot Lincoln Set" doesn't list "Going down to Cairo", which I recognize, or the third tune, which I don't. Do you know the name of the third tune in that set?

The first tune is 'Booth Shot Lincoln', as you know it’s a traditional American tune which apparently commemorates the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln by John Wilkes Booth in 1865.
The second tune is 'Goodbye Liza Jane', (it’s not ‘Going down to Cairo’), it’s a very well known standard particularly in Bluegrass circles, made famous by Bob Wills who had a hit with it in 1947.
The last tune is a Shetland tune called ‘Robertsons Reel', written by the famous Shetland fiddler, composer & teacher Tom Anderson.
All the tune info is in the descriptions with each of the videos, thanks for listening 😊
