Wills made me cry!!
🎶 Standin on the corner in Williams Arizonay
🎶Twenty women on my mind!
🎶 Take it easy Take it easy!
🎶 Don't let the sound of your own wheels
🎶 Drive you crazy!!
Little piece of history on the Grand Canyon railroad the former owners, Max and Thelma Biegert are actually the ones that restored the old steam locomotive that used to be previously used on the Grand Canyon Railway. They also had a restaurant named after them. They’re in Williams Arizona they were close friends of the family. Oh I forgot they also had the hotel there. The Grand Canyon railroad hotel was formerly named after them the former owners before they sold it to a large corporation for $1 billion.
Thank you for this! I will never achieve to see this in person, but this is so wonderful!!! I am positive Germany is beautiful as a country can be, but the beauty of this landscapes is adorable!!! Really awesome country you guys have!
I am a fan of the landscapes in Norway and Finnland, but you showed me, the US can hold the candle very easily. :)
Maybe one day. ;) Maybe.
Go with Will on a ship trip to the North Pole
Okay I'm going to sound corny and dramatic but this series of exploring and meeting strangers, and everyone is so kind to each other and there's a sense of kinship and joy with everyone is so cathartic. These interactions and experiences give me hope for humanity and reaffirm that deep down people are good and it makes me want to be kinder to others
I don't think it's corny at all. I we all innately crave humanity, kindness, humour and to connect with fellow humans. Itchy Boots' is also travelling around the world on her motorcycle - and if you read the comments, you will notice the exact same "corny" theme. It seems to be universal.
@@NewSkiwi I heard about Itchy Boots from the late Camo Dave!!
Well said Paige! This is the beauty of train travel!
for 11k a person, everyone better be in a good mood
Not at all corny. Think that we all crave such kindness and the good in people. We hear so much of the bad in people, that when we are exposed to the good, it just makes us feel happy inside and hopeful that there really are good and loving people out there.
I just love Will's raw emotion and excitement about seeing the Grand Canyon. He is such a joyful person!
Mike, it’s always an adventure with you bro! Can’t wait to join you again soon. ❤
Same here! Let's start planning it now!
My eyes were leaking right along with you…….happy you guys got to experience this together. True friends ✌️
@@DownieLive can you invite a 3rd person?
How does one join the next trip? 😂
Nice
I wish I could find someone like Will to go road tripping with around Michigan. When I was young, I assumed everyone was just as curious as I was about the world. As I got older, I learned it's a rarity.
I waited for decades for someone with the time or interest to travel with me and started going anyway. I find when I'm alone I don't get slowed down or distracted and get deeper into the experiences and see more things.
If you're ever in Southwest Missouri, give me a holler and we'll ride the Branson scenic railway together.
Truely enjoyed your Grand Canyon adventure guys, and Mike..I feel, you must be a pretty special guy to have such a gorgeous friend like Will. Groovy to see what a profound effect this destination had on him..
Trains brought you together..but destiny made you Brothers.
🌈🦋🧑🏾🤝🧑🏼🚞💙🏜
Michigander here… I LOVE road-tripping Michigan all the way up past marquette
@@iamcoreilly I can't afford to travel, but that's what I would do. Years ago, I used to wait on people to go to movies with me. It was always such a chore to get them together because they're so "busy." (Doing what, I don't know.) At one point I waited so long that the movie I wanted to see (can't remember which one) was no longer playing in theaters. I was so mad. From that point on, I thought to myself that if I want to go somewhere, I'm going. I'll let people know, and if they want to join me, great! But I am not waiting and missing things just because I can't find someone to go with me.
I was the passenger service attendant in the Pullman car, thank you for riding with us!
Thanks for hosting us! It was fantastic!
@@DownieLive Thank you!
Aw...Will is definitely my favorite person of all your travel buddies. He's always smiling and happy. I also love how whenever you ask if he wants to do something, he's always like "Ya, let's go!" So happy you did this for him, great video!
So true!
I love Will toooo!!!!! ❤ What a sweet, open-hearted person! If everyone could be like Will, the world would be a better place!
Will and Mike's parents are the best guests overall, but Will is definitely the best out of all of the friends I've seen featured thus far.
I teared up when Will did. What an amazing experience!
Same here! The sheer joy was palpable!
I had tears rolling down my face. So beautiful!
Same here 🙋♂
same here 🙂
Same
You are the reason why I was able to convince my Grandpa to get internet. He's 91 and lives a pretty simple life. When I showed him your videos he was amazed by everything about them. From your infectious positive vibes to the amazing quality of your videos. Thank you for everything
aww! That is so awesome!
Once again, Mike: A big and heartfelt THANK YOU from a locomotive driver for promoting rail travel in such a unique way. What a wonderful video. And I just love Will's outgoing and embracing personality.
Many thanks!
Will is an absolute joy…you’re both lucky to have such a friend in one another.
I feel the same! I love Will!!
Please subscribe to his channel and show Will some love over there. He has a channel too, and he's such a joy.
NO ONE does travel vlogs like this. The warmth, humor, and sheer humanity take us all to a very happy place. Awesome sound and editing. Thank you mister D
My first sight of that massive hole in the earth made me cry too. And the second time and the third time. Nothing prepares for the size and the magic of it all. Doing it with someone precious is priceless.
I live in Arizona and I always take new visitors to see the Grand Canyon. The look on Will's face when he first experiences the grandeur of the Grand Canyon is why I will always make time to take people to see it. I teared up a little with Will, and I have visited it many times. I love that you gave your friend that experience. It feels great, doesn't it? ❤
Fun facts about the Grand Canyon:
It's bigger than the entire state of Rhode Island! The park comes in at a massive 1,904 square miles, while Rhode Island is around 1,212 square miles. In some places, the canyon itself is over a mile deep and ten miles across!
The Hopi Tribe considers the Grand Canyon a gateway to the afterlife. The tribe has always placed great spiritual significance on the site. They believe that upon death, a person passes westward through a “place of emergence,” located upstream from the confluence of the Colorado and Little Colorado rivers in the canyon, on his or her journey to the afterlife.
Man, that hit me in my “feels”. What a beautiful country and trip - made even more special when the journey is shared with friends and family. Thank you.
Two dudes out on the road, taking it in, and bringing everyone else along for the adventure. Does not get any better than this 🚂
Mike, you are a very good and kind man! To take your friend on a train trip so that he can realize his life long dream of seeing the Grand Canyon and also because he loves to travel by train is a testament to your outstanding character. You are a man who knows the value of friendship. The world is a much better place because of you.
Absolutely beautiful video. I am so happy you got to help Will cross so many items off his Bucket List. The absolute joy, that overflowed through tears, was more beautiful, perhaps, than the scenery. I cannot wait to share your Alaskan adventures with you. As always, thank you, for bringing us along for the ride.
Thank you so much!
Will obviously was really touched by the beauty of the Canyon. You're a great friend Mike. Keep on ridin' the rails.
Will do!
I too choked up when I first saw the Grand Canyon. Depth perception blown but my goodness what a view. Went back the following year to shoot the rapid for 5 days. Remember, on your road to happiness, take someone along with you. Well done Mike...well done. Patricia-South Padre Island, Texas
I LOVE Will's reaction. Talk about someone who appreciates what is important in life.
I’m not crying, you are. His reaction was the most pure, joyous reaction I have ever seen. I just love this series. ❤
I already knew you’re the best, Mike! But,in a world where most people feel like they have to act cool and jaded, what a delight it was watch Will’s pure joy.
I was born and raised in Williams Arizona. When I was a kid I walked right through the old abandoned depot there. I remember crabapple trees everywhere there, and we would pick them and eat them, I remember getting sick a few times too. The depot then and today sits on Franklin Street. Some of my best friends have worked on the train too! I remember the. Steam engines too. Many times I rode the steam engine from Williams to Kingman. My husband and I as kids rode to the Grand Canyon with his dad. His whole family worked for Santa Fe. I’ve been to the Grand Canyon so many times in my life that I thought of it as a big hole in the earth too! The memories this brings back!!! I’m 70 years old now! Blessings
Now my wife is insisting that we take the Grand Canyon Railway. Another wonderful video, Mike!
Hahaha. You should! Enjoy the trip!
We are riding the train in July on our honeymoon 😁
Will seems like the coolest dude ever
Seeing will at the Grand Canyon made me tear up a little. The memories you guys made are the best.
You and Will have a dope friendship. Y’all two are really like brothers. Awesome to see that
Michael and Will are the best duo! Dang it Will, you made me cry 😢
I really wish I had known when you were filming this. I work here at the Grand Canyon and would have loved to meet you guys. The grand canyon is truly a breathtaking place. President Teddy Roosevelt is quoted as calling it the one place that every American should see. I never get tried of standing along the rim.
You have an amazing job! We're visiting on our honeymoon in July 😊
Not me over here crying with Will! What an amazing trip! Nature is something else.
Damn. Mike knows how to give gifts. Happy Birthday, Will! So glad you brought us with you to celebrate!!
I like how Mike just gets on a train and is like “LETS CHECK OUT THESE BATHROOMS!”
To see Will get choked up, well that speaks to how humbling the Grand Canyon moves us. It moves us to believe in something greater than ourselves. Michael I love how you continue to stay real and authentic. You are a good friend and I absolutely love that you don’t know where you are going, but you know you want us all with you.
Mike, not like you didn't know, but you're editing/production of these series is top tier. Amazing work as always!!
I appreciate that!
@@DownieLive so true
Will’s enthusiasm is so infectious! How awesome that you helped him check these off his list!
Will brings so much energy 😊
I’m a train enthusiast because my grandpa was and he passed away in the hospital a few years ago
Hi
Never once saw a commercial for a train. Been following your Florida to Alaska series and binging all your other videos since and I’m watching tv tonight and see a commercial for the Rocky Mountaineer!
Hahaha. It’s a sign!
The look on Will's face when he saw the Grand Canyon is what its all about. That was awesome. I can't wait to make it to the Grand Canyon someday soon
You and Will are just too cute!! Have a great time! Cannot wait to see Alaska! Byee Will...sorry to see uou go! ❤️
I was crying with you Will! So sweet to see you both so happy experiencing the Grand Canyon together. As Will said, you guys are Brothers... "Brutha from another Muther!' 😉👍🏻👊🏻
try not to think of it as an end to your journey together, but a brief pause until you two discover your next big adventure. as my gran used to say "if you can successfully travel with someone and not want to smack them at the end, that's a bond that lasts a lifetime." can't WAIT to see the next episode!
Awwww, Will. You had me tearing up! You and Mike are so blessed to have each other as friends and able to spend such amazing trips together. Cherish it ♥️
The pure joy on Wills face! I just want to hug him
I want to go on a train trip now with Mike and Will. Such a fun duo!
Luxury or not, there's no way I'd be inside a car when those views are outside. You two had the right idea. Love this episode.
We agree!
You matching your outfits (whether planned or not) with your guests makes it so much more special… loving this series.
When you nearly miss the train so you get a domed car and access to the Chief's outdoor deck:
*A small price to pay, for salvation*
You know you've done something right when your friend cries tears of joy. Will is very lucky to have such a dedicated friend like you! The Grand Canyon is a natural marvel, in a country blessed with many wonderful national parks, and I don't blame him one bit for wanting to go there so much to take it all in. America the Beautiful is no lie
You are a good man Mike, Wills reaction 😢 good to see the appreciation
I appreciate that
Will’s emotion got to me. I had the experience overlooking Tokyo station watching trains of all sorts departing and arriving and literally had tears in my eyes. Something about train travel that does this.
This was beautiful. Will had a smile on his face the entire time.
How can you not smile while watching Mike and Will?! There positivity and joy are infectious♥️
Beautiful! Not only the scenery, but more importantly your friendship. Why can"t everyone be like you guys?
Will's reaction was exactly like mine when I first saw the Grand Canyon (some 30+ years ago). It took me an entire day to convince my brain that what I was seeing was real and not a painted backdrop! So Will's awe and emotion were entirely appropriate to the experience. Neat video! And Will was a great traveling companion.
Mike, your friend Will is funny...."I just saw a big hole in the middle of the Earth." That was cute. He was in awe of the Grand Canyon. My Husband has been there but I haven't. He says it was absolutely beautiful. Have fun and keep the videos coming. Love you mike and thank you.
I hope you and your husband can go together and experience the beauty of the Grand Canyon.
Aww. I got a little teary, too!
I am absolutely loving this series and making notes on the trains I need to ride.
The best!! That is all. The trip, the series, the friendships…just everything. The best.
You go, Will. I understand what it means to stand in front of something so spectacular. Wow, just wow!
What you did for Will I think was absolutely wonderful sometime we don't say stuff but it doesn't mean we don't feel stuff and will's reaction at 10:49 says it all
I love Will’s reaction it’s a nice feeling.
Man Mike is just a great human being. Sure I love the travel content on this channel but I’ve grown to love the light he is in the lives of others
This was a great trip and a real heartfelt moment! So glad that you could make this trip and share the awesome experience and scenery! Thank you again for the invite to a great time!
Love the bond between you and Will. 🥹🥹🥹
I seriously have tears 😢 in my eyes Michael. Thanks so much for taking us with you and Will on your trips, and showing your positive outlook and friendship 😊 🤗👌👍
By far my favorite series on UA-cam!!! Can’t wait for the next one!
Wow, thanks!
I think we need a travel with Will and Mike series
Oh, man... I love Will. What a great moment. I'm following him now.
Great video! Tell Will when he returns to the Grand Canyon, to stay overnight either at the South Rim village or at nearby Tusayan. Get up early for sunrise and also get out there for sunset - the colours will amaze!
Will do!
Awww...God bless Will. You guys are so wonderful. Friends making memories to fill the winter years of your lives with smiles.
Will seems like the coolest travel buddy.
I am a 73 year old Brit who spent 3 months, hitching 9000 miles around America in 1970. Met a lot of beautiful people. Worked at a Dude Ranch above Colorado Springs and got a ride up Pikes Peak. Crossing the Arizona Desert (sunstroke) saw the Grand Canyon and Steamboat Canyon. Nogales, Laguna Beach, Fishermans Wharf, Cannery Row, Haight Ashbury , Johny Winter at the Filmore West, meeting a Columbria Records Exec, tour of the warehouse and about 30 pre-release albuns for free, and a night trying to sleep on Times Square. Wonderful. Your vids have have generated many happy memories for me . Thankyou.
Memories of a lifetime, friendships forever! Safe travels for the both of you!
Man I got emotional when I saw Wil cry! The best!!
Great video, as always. I look forward to all of your travelling adventures. Can't for the next episode!
I love watching and listening to Will, he's like a kid in a candy store seeing new things, and brings such raw emotion to it. ❤
Michael, another Beautiful video! 💞💞💞🌺🌺🌺
You are truly a Lovely person!
Your parents have done such a Wonderful Job raising such a Wonderful Man. !!! 🌺🌺🌺💞💞💞
This series has not let any of your
Followers down.
It has been truly creative and exciting.
Thank you for taking us along with you, your family and your friends.
Please, stay safe, and be well. 💞💞💞💞🌺🌺
You are so kind
That was so fun. I have got to get on that train. I love watching Will experience the Grand Canyon. I got emotional just watching him see it for the 1st time!!! Love you guys ❤❤❤❤❤
Will is SO great! Thank you Mike!
i loved the comment William said... like we are brothers... i love this!... we need more of this in the world.. we are all family!
3:34 That locomotive is an F40PH, which is one of Amtrak’s former locomotives. So great to see them still operating today!
Seeing Will show emotion from the experience was heartwarming 💕 What an extraordinary thing to share with a friend!
Will nailed it at the end..."why does it have to end why does it always have to end?" I feel you brother it's always that way!
I took this train in the dome car you traveled in and it was awesome, despite the weather at the Grand Caynon was bad due to thunderstorms. I wish you would've stayed at the hotel at the station in Williams. It's really nice, you have included meals with a view of the tracks and you can see the freight trains blocking Amtrak trains like mad. I even saw the Sunset Limited delayed by 9 hours and it's smoke stop at the Williams Amtrak stop while eating breakfast. The restaurant has a lot of railroad memorabilia and a Model Train running the walls of the restaurant. I'm glad you got to enjoy the Grand Caynon Railway and the Grand Caynon itself. It really brought tears to my eyes too. I really enjoy seeing you and Will together and I want to see more collabs with you both.
Keep up all the great series fellow Canadian! 🇨🇦🇨🇦
So amazing! I hope I get to see the Grand Canyon one day! Very cool to see how touching it was to Will for you to bring him along on this awesome adventure! Can't wait to see Alaska with you, cya soon! Your friend, Talley.
What a wonderful adventure. It's on my bucket list for our 50th wedding anniversary in 2025!!
"Crying: acceptable at funerals and the Grand Canyon." - Ron Swanson, Swanson's Pyramid of Greatness.
Loved Will’s reaction. Beautiful expression of the human spirit, especially a man being so vulnerable on camera!! Keep doin what y’all are doin ❤
Great video! What I love is how you two have smiles plastered on your face the entire time. Obviously, it's a whole lot of fun, enjoyable and informative. I'm sold, I have to check out train traveling. Something I never thought about until seeing your videos. Love Will's reactions and comments. Choo Choo for now.
Welcome aboard, Bob!
Will made me cry too, trains create the best and most memorable experiences, and having friends make the adventure so damn special. Thank you Will and Mike.
I never knew about this train and I've been to the Grand Canyon often. Now I'll ride it some day for sure. Thanks! Smart move to upgrade to the dome car and also to have a friend along to share it.
Oh my goodness Mike, it definitely would take a chisel to scrape that smile off Will’s face 😉 You should also see if Will would also want to tag along with you to Newfoundland, so he can see why that province is affectionately referred to as “the Rock.”
I was emotional the first time I visited the Grand Canyon also! Can I just say that Will has the best smile and personality ever!!
Yep, that was crazy awesome as expected! Clearly it’s time for me to start exploring more of the novelty tourist trains in the US now that I’ve finished off all of the LD Amtrak routes. #ridingtherails
Yeah, change it up!
Amtrak is great because you’re on them for a long time.
Best video of the entire trip. Love Will’s emotional response to the Grand Canyon. I share the emotions for that place.❤️
What a special video, really love how you did this for your friend Will. It moved me seeing the impact it had on him (Will, you're rad!) ... Mike, your videos go beyond exploring and traveling, I sincerely appreciate that...
Mate, I love these vids. Your reactions are so genuine. And the vibe is always so positive
Grand Canyon is just heavenly. I ad the same reaction as Will when I first laid my eyes on it. I will never forget that day and will definitely come back to explore it more. Thanks for the video.
I absolutely loved Will's reaction to seeing the Grand Canyon! What a precious moment!! Thank you for all that you do! I am taking notes and adding these trips to my bucket list! God bless 🙏 ❤️
