Thanks Toyota! Is there a way to turn off the engine, but keep display / CarPlay on? When in phone call call (using the car hands-free) and turning off the engine, the display goes dark and the audio switches to the phone which is a bit confusing.
Wouldn't it make sense to have a key ignition option right next to the button, if there's any issue starting the car with the button? The key is an option to open the driver door already.

Also, there is no way to run the climate controls on Chevy vehicles with a push button start. Once we press the button with our foot off the brake a second time, the vehicle turns off completely

it would be handy if the key had a designated slot in the dashboard. that could then double as the start button. you need the key to lock the car anyway, so why not give it it's own place in the car.

Push-button start should be available on Tundra's and Sequoia's Toyota. Completely ridiculous to have new models without it. One of my few complaints about Toyota.

easier? if a 90`s theif tried to steal this he wouldnt even have been able to get inside... This techology stops (according to broom.no) over 95% of car thiefs.. cause they dont got the techology to fake the key signal... These cars should also stop after 3 minutes after start without a key inside.
I've seen videos of a new technology that thieves use to fake or extend the key signal and i've also seen a video of someone driving without the key inside the vehicle and it didn't stall. It just kept on driving and driving until the driver turned off the car by pushing that button. IMHO, this particular technology is a no no. Heck, what's really HARD in putting the key in the ignition, turn it and start. Opening the door is even heavier than just putting and turning the key in the ignition. Please bring back the reliable key ignition system. This push start/stop is just business. Smh.
Jacqueline Vazquez Uhm you can't hot wire it cause the won't start without the transponder chip. The chip basically sends a code the the car computer and if its recognized it will start. If the key isn't programmed it just won't start
+The Gaming Norwegian umm there is something called a immobilizer key which is like a push button but in good ol reliable key format with a remote to lock and unlock the doors
If only the push button start on Chevrolet vehicles could be this simple. If the battery in my key is low, we can't push the button with the key; we have to put it in the wireless charging holder or the front cup holder

So I learned that putting it in "N" and then turn off the engine, the car goes to accessory mode.....and then put it in "P".

This feature in my 2017 Highlander is very clunky and anoying. I usually turn it off after a few cycles. Often does not function as described.

That is the "ON" position in comparison with mechanical 🔑. First push is accessory, second push is the Ignition ON position.
