I really like this show. The song that Lana sings in ep 5 is beautiful. And by the way, I like Sonny!

I'm confused about the protagonist. Are we supposed to have sympathy and root for him? I know he tried to increase diversity and representation of Asian people in Hollywood, but at the same time, he's a cold-blooded killer (for killing the Major)

I don't think "rooting for" him is the point of the show. It's more of an exploration of this multifaceted, very flawed character. He calls himself a man of two faces, so he has "good" and "bad" (and in-between.) Interestingly in the book, he is complicit in killing the Major, but he doesn't pull the trigger, Bon does. In both versions, the Major's ghost still haunts him. I personally don't feel sympathy, instead I feel fascination.

Yup, just like in every war, everyone involved has a good side and and a bad side. That is how you survive a war.

The point of the show is that he is a complex and nuanced character in a complex and nuanced world.
