Byzantine Angel Mosaic installation at London School of Mosaic

- Installation process of a byzantine angel (from Hagia Sofia in Thessalonica) at our school's entrance. The mosaic was made with smalti (traditional mosaic glass), which we fixed with cement onto a plastic coated design template from which we could easily lift the finished sections. The work was made by Diploma students between 2018 and 2020.

Absolutely beautiful! I wish you guys would have stamp the video with the start date and milestone dates and hours spent to the end of completions. Also added an into video explaining what you are doing and comment video at the end. Again, love the painstaking art work. Thanks for sharing! I hope to see more videos like this one.

Beautiful work! May I ask, for the angel, why you felt the need to pre-mortar the back rather than install it into fresh mortar with the mesh right on the wall?
