I love these minimalist mobile devices and I really wanna switch to a feature phone or an E-ink phone permanently, but the biggest barrier in the way is that none of these devices support 5G network, 3G and 4G are getting obsolete in my country at a rapid rate.
I get this. I think both E-ink and feature phone makers need to start releasing 5g devices sooner than later. If the demand increases I'm sure some manufacturers will listen. At least that's my hope.
Thanks for the video, you answered my question. Ever since Smartphones dominated the world I was totally forced to have one, and I don't like it when I'm forced to have something (especially something this expensive). Well, I'm trying my best to remove the smartphone from my life, but it's very difficult. Maybe with this solution you present I can finally free myself from this technology that I don't even like!
I am glad to help. The smartphone is something I truly detest but it's harder and harder to get rid of. I am always experimenting with alternative ways to get around having one.
Great Great video!! I myself, as a non-native English speaker, I found your video very easy to understand and your message is very clear. Humongously helpful video to study English and fulfill my interest/intellectual curiosity at the same time. love!
That's a big compliment and I hope your English studies are going well! I used to be an English teacher so my way of speaking may be because of teaching English to non-native speakers. I'm happy my content is easy to understand and thank you for the kind words!
Hey Laura, hope you are doing well.
I’ve been watching your videos, I like them all.
Build habits outside this ‘hyper-technological’ world sounds an awesome idea.
However, for example, in my case, I’m a bit tied to it and unable to set it aside due to I use it for a lot of things separately from social media or scrolling.
Greetings,
Does the Palma have an on screen keyboard ? How well does it work ? Can you make a video for us about this ?
Yes it does have an on screen keyboard. It is a bit laggy due to the e-ink refresh rate. I’ll try to make a video including this.
does it have mic and earpiece like a normal phone for whatsapp call?
Yes it does
does palma has GPS sensor?
The GPS works with wifi so it does not have a sensor
Soo... does Palma has an actual GPS? Because it's not in specs (on their page). Maybe that was just wifi scanning + google location service?
I think this is probably the case more than an actual gps
I love the idea of the Punkt phone. I can't find much about the apps. Does it have a notes app? I have ADHD and struggle with short term memory loss. I have to have a task app that reminds me to do basic functions. Yeah, it sucks.
Yes it has a notes app. You can add reminders to your notes. It has basic apps like calendar, clock, calculator and a messaging app called Pigeon which is Punkt’s version of Signal. I will do a full review of the Punkt MP02 soon.
@@LauraMalvoyante Amazon has a $100 off coupon. In the States anyway. May have to get it. Thank you for the great video and the info!
How about instagram? I know the videos won’t be good, but I just need texting to my friends. Could you please make video about how it works? Thank you.

The Boox Palma can be used as a Walkie Talkie.
Really? Interesting 🧐
What a strange device. By giving it such a narrow display, this was clearly not designed to read books. Book readers do not want a screen that narrow, not to mention people with poor vision will increase the font size. Some people would be constantly scrolling or turning the page.
Well I love mine and have read an entire book on it in the week that I have owned it. So your assumptions about what all people will or won’t want are not as accurate as you may think they are.
@@ConradMurkitt of course I must be wrong as you dont agree. Everything you say is correct and everyone else is wrong. We all must bow down to YOUR opinion. You do realize that you only make up 25% of the people who agree with you. The other 75% disagrees with you. Maybe it's you who should keep your opinion to yourself?
@@finkelmana you do indeed give me too much credit. I made no assertion that my point of view was correct, just that yours was not. When you make such an absolute statement, such as you made, it only takes one person to disagree with you for the statement as written to be incorrect.
Where is the source of your percentages as I cannot seem to find them amongst the comments on this video?
Do not trust such reviews because they only play with the device quickly and superficially to attract visitors, and do not test it professionally.
The biggest drawback of the device is that it is not possible to type correctly. To say it simply, what you type is different from what is displayed on the screen!
I know, it's a very, very simple and general function that's been since the 1980s on PCs and Nokia phones, but it doesn't work properly on this modern device!
So before buying, you need to know that it is not possible to type any text in books, notes, office files etc. Only a series of weird characters are typed.
For more than a year, dozens of emails and messages have been exchanged between me and the support team, but this simple problem has not been fixed.
This has not happened with me. I use my device everyday to script my videos with Google docs and have not had this issue. I am using the device to type this comment reply as well. Maybe yours has a software bug and if that is the case they should replace it or refund you. I use this device because I’m visually impaired and can’t use traditional smartphones for long periods because the screens hurt my eyes. This video was not sponsored and I would not endorse a device that doesn’t work.
