I lived through Ian. Natural disaster is the great equalizer. A few people get selfish and stupid beforehand, but during cleanup, everyone works together. Enjoy it, this is about the only time you’re gonna see the Democrats and the Republicans working towards a common goal.

Florida has always been locals taking care of locals…..I was in the eye of hurricaine Charley years ago and slept for weeks in my house with no front door at all, back doors that were crushed open and a garage door that was hung up with ropes……I lived there alone…..and I was SAFE…….no one bothered me, no looting……I was never even worried that I might be in danger….no looting in the whole area.,,we all helped each other and watched out for each other…..and yep! I learned to use a chain saw!
