Hi all welcome back to another video Dereck Reacts back at it again! This time around we take a look at another project FRIDA going solo with "Sista Valsen Med Dig." It's a heartwarming song, that has lots of elevation with neat rock/pop elements. She wins my heart over on this track. See it now!

The lyrics for the tracks on 'Djupa Adetag' (Deep Breathes) were from Frida's own ideas and written by Anders Glenmark to her own specifications. This was her last original solo album in 1996 and although she had planned to follow the album up until her husband Ruzzo became ill and passed in 1999. Frida faced more tragedy following the recording of this album. Her 30-year-old daughter Ann Lise-Lotte Fredriksson Casper died of injuries sustained in a car accident in Livonia, New York prompting Frida to abandon to project. As others here have said, the lead single from the album 'Aven En Blomma' (Even A Flower) is also really worth a listen.

This is one of my favorites off the album. I was surprised to see you reacting to it. This video is taken from a interview special, and is more of a behind the scenes...not really a music video. But what I like about this song, is you get the melancholy feeling even without knowing Swedish or the lyrics.
The man in the video is Anders Glenmark, a Swedish performer and producer, who produced and wrote material for this album and has worked with Benny and Bjorn over the years. He and his sister were a group named Gemini, produced by B and B in the 80s.
This album was produced before Frida hit hard times with losing her husband to cancer and her daughter to a car accident. They're deaths kind of put the brakes on her coming back to music activity in the 90s.
As for her lower register, she addresses how with age, you just can't have the same range you did in your younger days, in another part of the interview special this video was part of. Actually, the part after the two verses, where she sings "Månen ler", (If I remember right) the video stops and Frida and Anders laugh because he's kind of mocking trying to hit the note and Frida comments on age limiting her vocals after time. The video was edited to make it look more like a music video, by whoever put this on UA-cam. Suggestions Aven En Blomma ...it has an actual music video.

Absolutely sublime album. Just timeless. Each track is special. Frida is relaxed and in her natural element. Djupa Andetag was made before the tragic losses she experienced and caught her in a happy, content period in her life. Please check out aven en blomma next!

'Djupa Andetag' was Frida's 'comeback' album in 1996, and I believe it was her best. It highlighted her gorgeous, sultry tones in a way that her 80's output did not. I do like the laid-back, mellow feel of this track but my favourite from the album is 'Aven En Blomma'- that song (and video) is sublime. Hi from Oz, Dereck 👋🐨😃
The emotional-theme in this song you might have been looking for was 'an air of resolution'. A lot of the sad songs that Frida has sung have combined both the sad/unhappy ending *with* a positive determination/strength to move on to a new chapter, just like 'Sista valsen med dig', such as 'Knowing Me, Knowing You', 'When All Is Said And Done', 'Like An Angel Passing Through My Room' ...even 'Money, Money, Money' 😊
Thank you for reviewing and reacting to Frida & Agnetha's fine solo songs 😁👍 ...and as an Australian TV host of weekly music show from the 1970s/1980s, called 'Countdown' (how 'Mamma Mia' was finally released as a single in 1975) used to say: "Do ya self a favour" and listen to *all* of Frida's album this came from ('Djupa Andetag', from 1996) and Agnetha's 'A' album (from 2013). Arguably both of their best solo albums.
    One last thing 😁 ...
I'd like to ask for a review/reaction from you of ABBA's first instrumental: 'Intermezzo No.1', featuring Benny, from their 1975 album 'ABBA'. I would recommend the live version from 'ABBA The Movie', except the music gets interrupted by bits of the movie's story; nevertheless, it captures additional excitement from the original version, and it's fantasic to see Benny's enthusiasm as he gets stuck into the piano 😃💖 (when he's not 'interrupted' 😉).
Cheers for now, Sir Bananas 👋😊👍

Frida was the child of a German WWII soldier stationed in Norway and her Norwegian mom. He left before she was born and they thought he was dead. As a product of a German Soldier father Frida's family had a difficult time in Norway. So her mom and grandma took her to Sweden before she was 2. When she was 2 her mom died suddenly. Her grandma raised her, working many jobs, Frida had to rely on herself often for entertainment. She began singing, encouraged by grandma at 13. Later in the 70's when Frida's story was told a German man read it and told his relative about it. Comparing pictures he had of Frida's mom he realized he was her father. Although it was difficult they met. Frida was about 32 and she was reserved. Not until years later did she accept him. Meanwhile in her life she had been married, divorced and she had to leave her son and daughter often with their dad in order to pursue her career. Her relationship with Benny did end as everyone knows leaving her heartbroken. Later she married and said Prince Heinrich Ruzzo Reuss of Plauen was the love of her life. She became a princess and step mother to his daughters. Meanwhile her daughter went to school in the USA, met and married and lived in upstate NY. In 1998 Frida's life was turned upside down when her daughter was killed in a traffic accident. She was devastated of course. But when a year later her beloved husband died of cancer Frida was practically destroyed. It took years and many friends to help her through. Jon Lord (Deep Purple) and his wife were two of Frida's closest friends. Jon and lyricist Sam Brown wrote the Sun Will Shine Again. In 2004 Frida (5 years since her husband died) was able to record and sing on TV in Europe. She received such love from the audience that it touched her heart.

Nun ja,da hätte ich mir schon was anderes gewünscht!!!
