I know it's a 3 year old opinion, but Pokemon Masters EX remixed each of the gen 5 elite 4 members to have different themes based on the original and all turned out as bangers. Would be curious to know your thoughts on them if you still care lmao. Personally, Grimsley and Shauntal's ones s l a p
Can't say I've run into the problem of remixes "ruining" a Pokémon song for me. Since most of the remixes I've listened to have only been ok I found with very few exceptions. I do like bw2 Cynthia's theme however I don't agree that its better than the original one. Though I will say her masters one is pretty sweet.
I agree, i don't care if a remix is bad, i'll just be like "Eh i wish it could have been better but whatevs." However disagree with the cynthia opinion cause i think her original theme is awful, magic of opinions. XD

SM's Blue/Red theme has great elements, but I think those elements would fit better in other songs. Like, grab those accordion segments and slather it all over XY's themes, maybe throw in some violins and lean way more into the frenchness of Kalos instead of the kinda generic stuff we actually got. Though I get they were probably trying to play it safe when bringing pokemon into full 3D and while there's nothing necessarily *bad* about most of the tracks (excluding the rival themes, your rival theme should *never* sound like some random wild pokemon encounter theme) there's nothing that really pops out that I can remember except maybe Team Flare's theme, which is a shame because despite having a decent theme and one of the most evil endgames (straight up genocide), the team itself is basically a joke.
Ok so hot take: The use of the Hall of Fame motif in Leon’s theme is fucking stupid. Like you’re supposed the be fighting the toughest battle of your life and the theme that normally plays AFTER you have won plays? It just feels like you’ve already won and you’re taking a victory lap.
It's actually supposed to be the other way around. Everybody in the crowd *expects* Leon to win. He is undefeated, and he will never leave the hall of fame. (Until you beat him of course) the theme is playing for Leon, not you.
@@Dipped1234 I get what they were going for but it’s just so poorly implemented because it’s used during what is supposed to be an intense moment. It feels like you already beat Leon and you’re just killing his Pokémon for fun, because the game has already given you the theme that means you’ve won.

gen 5's elite 4 theme matches most if not all of the members. marshal maybe not so much, but it definitely fits the other 3
I feel like the intensity matches Marshall’s whole thing though.
I didn't even know sword and Shield's were elite themes. From the two of them tho, Marnie's theme is the one that makes me wanna play it.
