    Got to have someone with SEC experience and knows how to recruit players for the toughest conference in college football. Also, we need proven coordinators, position coaches and great recruiters on the staff. So far the names mentioned haven’t done it for me. Gus, Urban, Houston, Petrino, we don’t need past coaches or coaches we can’t afford. IMO there are coordinators in the SEC I would rather gamble on than a coach from a non power five conference. Listening to all these podcasts is just confusing. For those that aren’t confused, what are your thoughts? Maybe this can clear my head.

    I did some inspection on the coaching career of Mike Leach. Lengthy at both Texas Tech & Washington State. Leach has an overall head coaching record of 138-88. Leach presently has a 54-45 record at Washington State. Leach's record against Top 25 opponents as of several years back is 13-41. Leach's Bowl record is 7-7 and he has no Conference Championships. Leach is presently yearly is making 3.75 million. Leach will be an expensive hire and I see nothing to get really excited about in his long head coaching experience. Leach appears to have a ceiling about as high as Houston Nutt achieved here. Leach cannot compete in the upper echelons of the Big 12 & Pac 12 on a regular basis. How is he ever going to do that in the SEC?

      WarHog38 One reason his record is not better may have to do with coaching at schools that have been in the lower half of their conferences. Hopefully he could get better recruits at Arkansas.

      I’ve always liked Leach but in this case I think it’s a matter of fit or not. He has had decent defense at times but he doesn’t use a TE (we have a potential NFL candidate freshman) and practically never has a running game. That would be tough tough sledding in the SEC and he does not adapt to personnel on hand, something that HY mentioned he was looking for. I think Leach is basically Gundy-ing us. He’ll get a nice raise out of this

      @@scottarivett496 you mentioned that Leach got the lower tier players in the past conferences that he recruited in and currently with Arkansas record and the other schools in the conference what makes you feel that young top tier players will pick here
      Getting a up and coming coach brings fresh approach and completely different game schemes in that Nick Saban hasn't had a chance to research and plan for. Minnesota did the jump and look at how its worked out so far
      I personally like Northwest Missouri State HC Rich Wright based on his record and being from a smaller conference he can come in well under the budget and bring a tough grinding approach

      Seems to be for reasons other than being offered the job. More of a consultation role. Not a bad move on HY’s part. There needs to be an effort to re unite people with the program that the previous AD alienated

    I think we're getting a little too ahead of the game on Coach Musselman. It's only been 4 games. There will be losses. It's not fair to him and the team to start glorifying him as a "savior" at this point.

    • @olokuno5976
      @olokuno5976 5 років тому

      If toy look at how the hogs played they first four games last year is a complete difference. Defense is better and so is the free throw percentage. Plus we keeping in state guys with this coach.

    • @PintoSixty
      @PintoSixty 5 років тому +1

      @@olokuno5976 True, but we haven't seen if all this correlates to quality wins. If the Hogs get 3 or 4 wins against tournament-quality teams this year (while having no height or rebounding advantage), I'll jump on the Muss Bus for sure. I think a huge test will be against Georgia Tech next week, or if they can stay within 5-10 points when they lose to conference leaders. This is just my opinion, of course. I'm not trying to sell anyone on this.

    • @olokuno5976
      @olokuno5976 5 років тому +1

      @@PintoSixty every team they played are at the top of the conference or picked to win they conference. Yeah suppose to win these games just like Kentucky was suppose to beat Evansville. Every team in the sec has struggled with out of conference teams. We top 5 in defense in the country and scoring defense we top 10. So go look at last year stats compared to this year first 4 games and you will see a big difference. Plus we had DG last year.

      @@PintoSixty I just think he is a better coach from the last one and recruiter. You cab tell the guys buy into what he is trying to build. You see it in the interviews like Macon and the past hogs use to do. Now yeah we will see a lot about them on the road but right now it's hard to say that what they are doing is not impressive. Holding teams to 40-45 points....
