Spectrum Scammer Says I’m the One With the English Problem

- These cable TV scammers were driving me crazy during the time I was losing my mom. I couldn’t understand what this scammer was saying, so I decided to insult his English skills extra. He said I was the one with the English problem. 🙄

I want to make it clear that I respect anyone who learns English as a second language and have all the patience in the world as they try AND I also love their accents, but I will mock scammers who think their English is good when it’s not as they pretend to be American. I’ve been nervous to post this one!
Oh I love it - wish more scambaiters would pick these idiots up on their dialect, starting with their fake names which some of them can't even pronounce properly, and I speak as someone who lives in England - still don't understand why they have to have a fake non-believable name in the first place - keep up the good work girl 😍

Completely agree. I've often thought that no matter how incomprehensible scammers sound their English is much, much better than my Hindi. But then I think - but I'm not phoning people in India trying to scam them out of their money.

@@hythey10 I saw a video where the scammer mispronounced her "American" name, the scambaiter corrected her, and she goes OK.
I am an ESL/EFL teacher and agree that it's not good to make fun of people who are trying, but scammers are another matter. Insulting their English is the best way to p@ss them off.

Completely agree. Their Engleesh is a thousand times better than my Hindi. But then again I'm not calling Indian people trying to steal from them. So they can take a long walk on a short pier. Great job here

The other day someone applied for a job at my work. The role requires you to be able to speak / read / understand English. The manager actually had to use google translate to get rid of the guy because he couldn't understand English. English is the main language spoken here.
Ps I remember helping someone learn English as a second language. It is a struggle for them and takes a lot of time / patience from the person helping them.
English is one of the hardest languages to learn! I turned on the closed captions and somehow it understands what the scammer was saying. It was "This is a feedback call." I still couldn't understand that he was saying "feedback."

Compound his accent with my hearing problem and I basically just keep saying Hello as if I can't hear them and then hang up. Mostly I just get the automated voice message that doesn't come with an accent so can just hang up.
I understand where you are coming from. Sometimes it is hard to understand some of the scammers. I try to put myself occasionally in someone else's shoes from a different country and think I am not quite sure I could speak their language.
All bets are off when it comes to scammers. Let them have it. Tell them they sound "tooty-frooty."

Folks in Lahore, Pakistan typically speak Urdu and Punjabi. A few speak Pushto. He had Pushto accent.

English isn't my native language, and i still have an accent when i speak it, but i think i speak better than this dum dum does, lol. He was very hard to understand. Also why did he think you're french? 😂

At the time I was getting up to 20 calls a day. It was driving me bonkers!
2nd comment: his english is so bad he can't understand proper english spoken by you, this guy had no clue what he was saying himself either. Also not a great idea to watch scam pranking when dealing with digestive issues 😂
