I don't have an extreme 4 but i do have a extreme 3 and I put it next to the Bose soundlink max and the JBL loses bass at the upper volume and certain music will distort the Bose at max volume. That being said I use pro equipment . ( Bose and JBL) and my experience is if you need full volume you need a bigger speaker. The Bose soundlink max gets louder and using the eq it sounds the best. The loudest that I would play the Bose is 80% volume which is a pretty good volume sounds amazing. That being said. I am glad bose gives a little more than it can handle on bass heavy songs because you can turn your listening to music the with this setup can get a little louder in some cases. It could be the bass wasn't mixed correctly I have the Bose and the passive radiators on the JBL are tuned to handle bass better than most of the speakers in their class. Good video.

Just bought the Bose max and I’m not impressed for the price… going to return, thinking about getting an encore. What would you recommend for that price range? Is the encore essential just as good as the normal encore?
Well... I also had the problem at the beginning that this speaker was clipping... And what can I say? These speakers, like any other speaker, need to be broken in first. Firstly, after a few hours it gets less noticeable and secondly it is also due to some of the audio files being poorly mastered... I hear this phenomenon again and again on Spotify... You can also use the EQ to turn the bass down a bit... and then it still sounds better at full volume than the screaming Extreme 4... With the EQ on standard, the Soundlink max sounds crap... but if you take the trouble to set the EQ to a similar pattern to the Extreme... you will see for yourself that the Bose is never as crap as it actually sounds here?
They don't need to be, these are bluetooth speakers, in the old 90' or 00' you needed to broken them in but now? It only makes distortions more prominant so nothing really good, It's not the files, I mean it is the speakers, I have a few speakers that does not distort in this song, I mean bose is just really off sounding here, artefacts boomyness and limiter struggles on almost every song, Paying 400$ to just EQ it with some 3 band eq? You won't make it a holy grail from an 3band eq, you can only boost treble or bass or mids, and that's a taste

You enjoy the Bose more with high sound quality or with the 3.5 jack if your cell phone does not play aptx, it cannot compare with JBL, it is not even made for that codec.
You are not using this speakers right. These speakers are designed to sound best in the mid sized room.. with loudness not exceeding 70%. And trust me that's enough for any house party. Then you can measure accurately the quality of the sound they produce. Sure you can blast it outside but there are speakers like UE hyperboom or JBL Boombox much better suited for that and bigger.
@@DominikReviews you can it's just that you can't accurately measure the sound quality and properties that way. As I said these speakers are better suited for house parties where sound can reverberate of the walls and fill the room. Then you can get the most out of those speakers and don't have to punch them over 70% volume. For outside party I would definitely choose a bigger speaker with larger battery
I think people forget the sound quality for a smaller size and use the Bose is impressive, I recommend listening in person before buying at Best Buy to make a personal decision based on listening experience
@DominikReviews You can't just buy them and send them back after your YT review. You filmed this before the new firmware update. You obviously don't own this speaker, or know how it currently sounds, you would've noticed they haven't any distortion. Nice camera you filmed with, tho.
I have heard in oluvs channel. The bose sounds fuller but completely distorted and funny. The tracks sound nothing familiar to what they are. The jbl is way cleaner but much basslight.
@@stargazerxd13Oluv only wants to promote EarFun speakers… at maximum the Bose just needs to reduce the bass a little, and no distortion and will sound normal.
@@migks37 yeah the bose would be better with reduced bass. But the earfun is also great objectively. He even compared the tribit blast and at max volume, earfun had way fuller bass but maybe similarly deep. And also louder than the tribit.
First of all, the iPhone is very crappy. Secondly, get a good Android phone and connect the Bose speaker to the aptx codec. You are still waiting for sound with SBC. Bose SBC does not work well either, it cannot show itself fully. There is music in this music, distortion is already present in every speaker. Tribit Stormbox creates distortion in Blast, Boombox 3 also does it.
First of all, the codec does not change the tone of the sound or anything like that, it only improves the "Quality of the sound" for example details etc. Secondly, I don't know why you are justifying the Bose for distorting. "Because each speaker is different" Well let's say yes, but not everyone does it, some speakers sound normally clean. So Bose just sounds funny like that. Even in songs jazz or some other acoustic songs distort below 60% volume, which is a real problem, Bose is not quality, Bose is marketing!
You are very wrong my friend, I am using Bose Max and I have a good Android phone, I play with the equalizer settings of the phone, I work with aptx qualcom and I adjusted Bose's equalizer settings and the result is perfect, especially if you compare it to JBL Xtreme, it is very good.
