Only thing I would wish for is they make the old raids drop the reals so we dont feel like we missing out while going back to get other peoples loot, and put more tier on the reals or some off bis loot thats marginal
@luked4650 old raid dropping "t1 reals" etc would be a nice touch. Giving you an opportunity to get pieces like even TF bindings for 150 reals would be healthy for the game
As a GM, it’s pretty much raid log city at this point. We still run MC for some BIS loot. I wish they added something similar to Ulduar where you could skip around the specific bosses, but had to kill Majordomo to access Rag and The Molten Core could always be summoned.
As much as I want SOD to be good, it simply is too little "outside raid" content. I like the reals system, but there is too few items to get. Way too much "HR tiger, HR idol, HR this, HR that" to the point it's straight up unappealing to join even raids you need. Edit: In regards of respecting your time. - I feel you should be able to swap between coreforged and shadowforged sets. - The ZG rep items and enchants should be account wide, aswell with zanza pot. - The incursion rings should be able to teleport you to a zone of your choosing instead of needing a player inside to target.

Leveling and finding runes is part of the ‘discovery’ in the game. You would choke it with the posibility to just buy runes. The 300% xp though would be a good idea to get ppl to make more alts. You would still have to go on the lvling experience just a bit faster
Phase 5 is damn near perfect. Playing classic re-release my favourite parts were TBC's badge of justice system and Wrath's alpha/beta/gamma dungeons (take a good dungeon and change it a little) and they're doing a similar thing in SoD with the raids. It's a really good time and it's probably 1 or 2 weeks away from passing Cataclysm numbers so that should tell you something
It's the class and rune design for me. It doesn't matter to me how good the content is since the classes and runes are so wildly unbalanced or just flat out useless. This mixed with the removal of immunities in raids really killed it for me. I should not be able to stack scorches on the literal god of fire.
@NOHITJEROME sadly I think it's past the point of no return my good sir. They've added to many runes that affect to much of the playstyle. Mages, for example, have basically 0 variety. Frost and fire have the EXACT same rotation. Most of the frost runes are useless and arcane is a healing only spec which nobody asked for. With that much unorganization in just one class, how the hell can we expect them to maintain any level of integrity to classic as a whole? This isn't classic plus, it's retail mythic plus on the classic map and I quit retail a long time ago.

As a returned player, I quit because getting the runes to play moderately up to par is a LOOONG process. Then getting into anything as a under geared fresh 60 dps even with guilds is fucked. I work too much to pay for a game were all I do is wait to more than likely not experience the content. Then the other side is reroll to heal or tank. And sink more time just to hopefully get in groups.
jokes aside retail is for the players who grew up with wow and now have those type responsibilities you mentioned. classic is literally for people who want to experience the old ways, unfortunately many dads like you gave sod a shot and got mad. now all the mentally gone zoomer kids are trying to manifest phresh classic+ because even though its not enough for you (it never is) the devs thoroughly ruined sod by making it much easier/faster we simply cannot coexist in a game with such differing values, everyone loses

You know what would be perfect for the rune problem? If your main character has all the runes from 1 slot, such as a head slot, you can click a button to create a kind of scroll that binds on account which then releases all the runes from that slot so you can mail it to your alts
the only problem is there's not a lot more runes and actual content to do to keep people entertained, people start having crazy delusions that raiding is the entire game and if they could just raidlog on 10 more full bis characters they wouldnt be bored
I hit 60 last week and gearing is pretty easy but raid consumes and enchant costs for a new player is nuts. Guild wants to take me to bwl tonight and I spent all my gold on consumes and don’t have them all.. I keep running zg rep farms and other content but the gold can’t keep up with the sink? Maybe once my gear is stabilized I can start building gold up
Fish for nightfin and do BRE everyday. That keeps my gold sink in check for raid consumes. But I play Hunter so I don't have quite as many consumes as other classes.
It takes no time at all to level to 60, but it doesn't matter anyway because of the restrictions on new accounts. No mail, no auction house for 30 days. How do you expect any human being with self-respect to stick around in an MMO for an entire month without key features like trading or mail while the current phase they were hyped for passes them by? Just give players level 60 characters with all the gear on vendors like it's the PTR and we can treat SoD like the experiment it is. Historically and realistically speaking, the population is only going down from here.

As someone that's mained the same class since day 1 of p1: I think adding same faction BGs would save time queueingand not ruin my immersion (doubtlessly others would disagree) - I'm okay with the pacing of the ZG rep grind as it will keep people running it and the marginal benefits from exalted/revered aren't gamechanging for anything other than speedrunning but if you're speedrunning you're probably sweaty, and already exalted. I'm hoping for a more changed/improved AQ 40 (and 20 but less so 20) in p6 and that they really do something great for nax My main issue is that I can't restore my character due to him having the same name as my main and despite putting in a ticket, they're saying there's no workaround :/ Game is solid -Slightly autistic, warrior, pvp, and pve enjoyer
I'm focusing on BWL w my quite casual guild with some newer players, and really enjoyed the Truthbearer quest line, but beyond that I'm not playing much at all
Only way to entice old players to come back is 300% level boost. Runes can be learned from vendors at certain levels. Gold boost reward to regular classic quests only. Remove reputation grinds for anything that's not current content. No one is going to come back to invest time in a game that may not be around in less than a year. Make PvP rewards locked behind arena and you can queue with cross faction to avoid unbalanced classes. I know it won't happen but this would definitely stir things up which is what SoD needs before it completely dies.

hello again dude its your favorite ally priest sod is great for me because i have a good guild that can carry my alts up into raid gear without having to go get much in the way of tier 0 and .5 i think sod is meant to be played with an alt since as other commenters mentioned there isnt much to do outside of raidlog. i think with pvp, zg, thunderann, still item chasing 1 binding on my rogue, bwl the rogue and my main priest its plenty of stuff to do. has felt almost overwhelming but that beats logging on and jumping in circles in stormwind
- all runes at lvl 1 is a great idea to let people level up new chars, its so damn time consuming to hunt for all the runes on alts. - zg rep - enchants and zanza pot account wide. - Prince should have a bit more loot, 3 items is not enough + some coins so it doesnt feel like you are wasting time. - MC with coin drops - so its worth coming back. - Make world bosses drop 5-10 coins instead of static 3. - Incursion Ring should let you tp to incursions without having someone at that zone - Should be able to coreforge and swap back if you really need it Overall great phase, maybe consider change some runes that are quite useless for some classes.

I have like 3 hours to play a week. I’m really liking it but I also ran my second ever MC last night. But was able to h2 cause all I normally do is BRE dailies. I’m sure the sweats may get bored
How can ZG rep even remotely be a problem? The solution is simple. Schedule (or pug) the raid near the end of the reset so that you can rep farm until then as much as you want. There are rep farm groups repeating the dungeon blasting through mobs and skipping the bosses all the time. You can be exalted in the first week if you want to If the game "respected your time" it would not be classic. And yet it does. It's so much easier to get your tier gear with all the small but cumulative changes. If the raids changed too much people would complain. If they don't change enough, people complain. You can never please them all. They did a lot of work on re-imagined raids in phases 1-3 because there were no classic raids on those levels. This is actually better than I expected. I will have done most of what I want to do half way through the phase on my 1 char and then chill and raid 3 times a week while doing other stuff. It's a game not a life
You say that PVP meta will be AV. No it have not been at all since the mark change in Wsg/AB. 400 honor for a turn in VS 7500 says the most most there. AB seems to still be the meta. Good honor for killing and 4 marks for a win and atleast 1 for a loss. 2-3 use to be more common for a PuG loss nowdays
Rets need a huge nerf. There is no reason they should be able to freely smash all of their instant abilities for 12 seconds without even bothering to heal themselves because their (holy) damage doesn’t have a single mitigation from any class. You can’t even Lip because their damage (besides auto attacks) is holy and it goes right through. Blizz either needs to make their damage in PvP revert back to physical, or make it to where they can only heal while bubbled. Ally cries about nerfing shaman all the time but all blizz has done is buff rets to make them the most obnoxious class to 1v1
I'm not against more gear customization and more gear options, but that's means more gear in my bags. Get currency items out of bags and into a currency system. Bag bloat is annoying.
phase 5 is super amazing so far if you whine about rep farm in ZG, running BWL for multiple tokens, running MC for bis gear, calling it "not respecting your time", maybe wow classic/sod isnt for you and you should check out retail where gear is worthless and thrown at you like crazy. and why should runes be free instantly, this wouldnt make sense, because its part of the progression and character development. ive been loving p5 but whats bad about it is that zg is way too easy and nefarian himself is also basically just a tank n spank which is dissapointing that they didnt change any of the raids as much as other raids like bfd and sunken temple. also them having a 150% xp boost is insanly high and does not need to be higher lol as someone who thinks leveling in classic is the besst out of all the mmo's that ive ever played i have so much fun leveling and hop they dont boost it more. another thing is they 100% shouldnt make all runes just an easy grab im fine with the ones they have now cause atleast you need reals to buy them and they arent for gold or free, all of these changes is getting into the territory that i hate the most in retail which is convenience over community which is what making leveling even faster will do i can barely find groups for dungeons at the low levels and try out my class trying different specs builds and literally figuring out how to play my class more effectively before hitting max

Couple things - Affixs are much better than Heat 3 and they dont have to do as much because bwl is a fleshed raid that is one of if the most loved raids they have in the classic trio. ZG we will always come back to so I wouldnt worry too much about the rep, since we always come back for the enchants. PVP has been the only place as a mage that I am not having a ton of fun with the game. Otherwise this phase has been so much better than any other phase.
i agree affixes are better than heat levels but are they both worse than just getting new raid content? i'd say so. zg i get that we are supposed to come back for enchants but doing 10+ zgs just to unlock zanzas isnt ideal imo. as for pvp, i hope they rebalance classes at some point soon. i have a mage i'm working on and it looks dire right now.

Harder content is what fueled wrath/cata I feel like and those have turned into games I look at and just do not want to deal with at all. I also dont really trust this dev team to come out with new mechanics all of them have been overtuned and mostly unfun to deal with.
Disagree with buying all the runes. It goes against the discovery aspect of season of discovery. Yes we live in an era with guides everywhere, but if the player that wants to level a new class and wants to discover, he should be able to go and discover them. Otherwise agree with all the other points of the video. Also, YES want to see a 1-60 levelling guide for phase 5, there are NONE out there.
No more XP boost. Not even the buy option for past phase runes. Just have the previous phase runes drop off of the bosses from the raid that came with the phase. For example, phase 1 runes off of BFD bosses, phase 2 runes off of Gnomer, etc.
I wish they’d build new stuff rather than adding arbitrary raid difficulty levels to each raid. Vanilla is wonderful as is, don’t change much, just add! Affixes are the best way to do this. Get rid of the black trial and all is good. If you want harder content, go speed run or 99 parse. Stop whining for more difficulty just because you’re too lazy to compete.
lets be honest, the "devs" are not even working on the game any more.... they check into work... answer a few emails... then log into the game for 8 hours
Bad, already quit, ain’t coming back either. SoD started off so fun, but phase 3 was brutal as we all know. And now with adding all the bs mechanics to raids and whatnot, and this extremely toxic community, it’s just not fun to play. Don’t even get me started on the atrocity that is ranking and pvp either. Glad you’re still making content though, maybe someday we will get a true classic plus

the ranking is fine, honor is a bit overtuned but it sure as hell is way better than AV meta, so they are working through the right issues. PVP itself is pretty messy, half of the players are calling for no more runes, meanwhile I play shadowpriest and it feels like a half finished kit
Let's just mention the fact PVP is once again in a bad state.With some broken godlike unkillable classes or on the other hand classes that have too much burst timing when compared to others and dont allow any decent strategic pvp beside rush and die fast. As example rogues that can completely stunlock a player until dead, or warlocks that simply do not die.
Problem with SoD is that it's largely become a worse retail. You have a game that has forsaken the entire 1-59 world experience for heavy emphasis on endgame but ironically with nothing to do at endgame. No mythic+ dungeon like they teased, no alternate pve progression, and even the "harder" difficulty raids are largely a joke. PvP has become a clown-fiesta. Probably the most unbalanced PvP experience to ever exist in any version of WoW (player since 2005), and the lack of any new battleground or arena just further emphasizes how badly PvPs been abandoned. That unfortunately leaves absolutely nothing to do except raid log or level an alt but even leveling an alt with 300% now feels like a chore with the world becoming largely abandoned. It genuinely feels like a social experiment where SoD just speedran all the same mistakes retail made over 15+ years but at least for retail there is shit to do other than simply raidlog.
Alt friendly is trash and please stop advocating for it. I see the appeal of playing more classes (obviously), but it's because of this that the game falters in so many ways, such as complaining for faster loot, rep, honour grinds etc. Also, xp boosts are why horde dominate with 7+ shamans per AB, just pick up the flavour of the month (or in shaman case the whole game) which makes the game very frustrating. Having a world filled with a variety of classes makes it much more balanced and builds community because people should be better/worse at different things. And lastly, no p4 and 5 as much as they have been reasonable fun in raids, we just need waaaay more NEW content and less re-worked content

pvp balance was always a joke in classic, right now shadowpriest main feels like im playing a vanilla class vs WoTLK paladin, but since this is classic i level engineering can beat ~70% of players anyway :) No more runes and hyperbalance is not the way to go, make everyone OP rock paper scissors

Chromag was broken for us this week and the 2 (lockout chosen) breaths were coming out completely random so of course the timers from Foji weren’t correct which is fine, but with it being time lapse you really can’t have the breath be random and not knowing which one is coming until the cast bar, we still killed it after some wipes and a ton of extra LOSing, but just constant nonsense like that if it’s not one thing it’s another thing. We one shot him the previous lockout with black and the three affix’s so it cost us about an extra hour or so of raid because they managed to break something else.

It takes no time at all to level to 60, but it doesn't matter anyway because of the restrictions on new accounts. No mail, no auction house for 30 days. How do you expect any human being with self-respect to stick around in an MMO for an entire month without key features like trading or mail while the current phase they were hyped for passes them by? Just give players level 60 characters with all the gear on vendors like it's the PTR and we can treat SoD like the experiment it is. Historically and realistically speaking, the population is only going down from here.

As someone that's mained the same class since day 1 of p1: I think adding same faction BGs would save time queueingand not ruin my immersion (doubtlessly others would disagree) - I'm okay with the pacing of the ZG rep grind as it will keep people running it and the marginal benefits from exalted/revered aren't gamechanging for anything other than speedrunning but if you're speedrunning you're probably sweaty, and already exalted.
I'm hoping for a more changed/improved AQ 40 (and 20 but less so 20) in p6 and that they really do something great for nax

I'm focusing on BWL w my quite casual guild with some newer players, and really enjoyed the Truthbearer quest line, but beyond that I'm not playing much at all
Only way to entice old players to come back is 300% level boost. Runes can be learned from vendors at certain levels. Gold boost reward to regular classic quests only. Remove reputation grinds for anything that's not current content. No one is going to come back to invest time in a game that may not be around in less than a year. Make PvP rewards locked behind arena and you can queue with cross faction to avoid unbalanced classes. I know it won't happen but this would definitely stir things up which is what SoD needs before it completely dies.
Is it worth getting into at this point for someone who is pretty casual?

sod is great for me because i have a good guild that can carry my alts up into raid gear without having to go get much in the way of tier 0 and .5
i think sod is meant to be played with an alt since as other commenters mentioned there isnt much to do outside of raidlog. i think with pvp, zg, thunderann, still item chasing 1 binding on my rogue, bwl the rogue and my main priest its plenty of stuff to do. has felt almost overwhelming but that beats logging on and jumping in circles in stormwind
- all runes at lvl 1 is a great idea to let people level up new chars, its so damn time consuming to hunt for all the runes on alts.
- zg rep - enchants and zanza pot account wide.
- Prince should have a bit more loot, 3 items is not enough + some coins so it doesnt feel like you are wasting time.
- MC with coin drops - so its worth coming back.
- Make world bosses drop 5-10 coins instead of static 3.
- Incursion Ring should let you tp to incursions without having someone at that zone
- Should be able to coreforge and swap back if you really need it
Overall great phase, maybe consider change some runes that are quite useless for some classes.

How can ZG rep even remotely be a problem? The solution is simple. Schedule (or pug) the raid near the end of the reset so that you can rep farm until then as much as you want. There are rep farm groups repeating the dungeon blasting through mobs and skipping the bosses all the time. You can be exalted in the first week if you want to
If the game "respected your time" it would not be classic. And yet it does. It's so much easier to get your tier gear with all the small but cumulative changes. If the raids changed too much people would complain. If they don't change enough, people complain. You can never please them all.
They did a lot of work on re-imagined raids in phases 1-3 because there were no classic raids on those levels.
This is actually better than I expected. I will have done most of what I want to do half way through the phase on my 1 char and then chill and raid 3 times a week while doing other stuff. It's a game not a life

You say that PVP meta will be AV. No it have not been at all since the mark change in Wsg/AB. 400 honor for a turn in VS 7500 says the most most there. AB seems to still be the meta. Good honor for killing and 4 marks for a win and atleast 1 for a loss. 2-3 use to be more common for a PuG loss nowdays

Rets need a huge nerf. There is no reason they should be able to freely smash all of their instant abilities for 12 seconds without even bothering to heal themselves because their (holy) damage doesn’t have a single mitigation from any class. You can’t even Lip because their damage (besides auto attacks) is holy and it goes right through. Blizz either needs to make their damage in PvP revert back to physical, or make it to where they can only heal while bubbled. Ally cries about nerfing shaman all the time but all blizz has done is buff rets to make them the most obnoxious class to 1v1

if you whine about rep farm in ZG, running BWL for multiple tokens, running MC for bis gear, calling it "not respecting your time", maybe wow classic/sod isnt for you and you should check out retail where gear is worthless and thrown at you like crazy. and why should runes be free instantly, this wouldnt make sense, because its part of the progression and character development. And its not that hard to get them.
It sounds like their should be a vendor where you can just buy anything, from ZG rep over Tier tokens, runes and.... how about instant level ups? I don't get it why people cry for mechanics which make them play the game less.

ive been loving p5 but whats bad about it is that zg is way too easy and nefarian himself is also basically just a tank n spank which is dissapointing that they didnt change any of the raids as much as other raids like bfd and sunken temple. also them having a 150% xp boost is insanly high and does not need to be higher lol as someone who thinks leveling in classic is the besst out of all the mmo's that ive ever played i have so much fun leveling and hop they dont boost it more. another thing is they 100% shouldnt make all runes just an easy grab im fine with the ones they have now cause atleast you need reals to buy them and they arent for gold or free, all of these changes is getting into the territory that i hate the most in retail which is convenience over community which is what making leveling even faster will do i can barely find groups for dungeons at the low levels and try out my class trying different specs builds and literally figuring out how to play my class more effectively before hitting max

Couple things - Affixs are much better than Heat 3 and they dont have to do as much because bwl is a fleshed raid that is one of if the most loved raids they have in the classic trio. ZG we will always come back to so I wouldnt worry too much about the rep, since we always come back for the enchants. PVP has been the only place as a mage that I am not having a ton of fun with the game. Otherwise this phase has been so much better than any other phase.
i agree affixes are better than heat levels but are they both worse than just getting new raid content? i'd say so. zg i get that we are supposed to come back for enchants but doing 10+ zgs just to unlock zanzas isnt ideal imo. as for pvp, i hope they rebalance classes at some point soon. i have a mage i'm working on and it looks dire right now.
@@NOHITJEROME Yea so with new raid mechanics it just becomes harder, I don't really want harder content. I would hope they could come out with the SM/Kara raids that where originally promised. Harder content is what fueled wrath/cata I feel like and those have turned into games I look at and just do not want to deal with at all. I also dont really trust this dev team to come out with new mechanics all of them have been overtuned and mostly unfun to deal with.

Disagree with buying all the runes. It goes against the discovery aspect of season of discovery. Yes we live in an era with guides everywhere, but if the player that wants to level a new class and wants to discover, he should be able to go and discover them. Otherwise agree with all the other points of the video.
Also, YES want to see a 1-60 levelling guide for phase 5, there are NONE out there.
No more XP boost. Not even the buy option for past phase runes. Just have the previous phase runes drop off of the bosses from the raid that came with the phase. For example, phase 1 runes off of BFD bosses, phase 2 runes off of Gnomer, etc.

I wish they’d build new stuff rather than adding arbitrary raid difficulty levels to each raid. Vanilla is wonderful as is, don’t change much, just add! Affixes are the best way to do this. Get rid of the black trial and all is good. If you want harder content, go speed run or 99 parse. Stop whining for more difficulty just because you’re too lazy to compete.

Bad, already quit, ain’t coming back either. SoD started off so fun, but phase 3 was brutal as we all know. And now with adding all the bs mechanics to raids and whatnot, and this extremely toxic community, it’s just not fun to play. Don’t even get me started on the atrocity that is ranking and pvp either. Glad you’re still making content though, maybe someday we will get a true classic plus

the ranking is fine, honor is a bit overtuned but it sure as hell is way better than AV meta, so they are working through the right issues. PVP itself is pretty messy, half of the players are calling for no more runes, meanwhile I play shadowpriest and it feels like a half finished kit

Let's just mention the fact PVP is once again in a bad state.With some broken godlike unkillable classes or on the other hand classes that have too much burst timing when compared to others and dont allow any decent strategic pvp beside rush and die fast. As example rogues that can completely stunlock a player until dead, or warlocks that simply do not die.
Problem with SoD is that it's largely become a worse retail. You have a game that has forsaken the entire 1-59 world experience for heavy emphasis on endgame but ironically with nothing to do at endgame. No mythic+ dungeon like they teased, no alternate pve progression, and even the "harder" difficulty raids are largely a joke. PvP has become a clown-fiesta. Probably the most unbalanced PvP experience to ever exist in any version of WoW (player since 2005), and the lack of any new battleground or arena just further emphasizes how badly PvPs been abandoned. That unfortunately leaves absolutely nothing to do except raid log or level an alt but even leveling an alt with 300% now feels like a chore with the world becoming largely abandoned. It genuinely feels like a social experiment where SoD just speedran all the same mistakes retail made over 15+ years but at least for retail there is shit to do other than simply raidlog.

Alt friendly is trash and please stop advocating for it. I see the appeal of playing more classes (obviously), but it's because of this that the game falters in so many ways, such as complaining for faster loot, rep, honour grinds etc. Also, xp boosts are why horde dominate with 7+ shamans per AB, just pick up the flavour of the month (or in shaman case the whole game) which makes the game very frustrating. Having a world filled with a variety of classes makes it much more balanced and builds community because people should be better/worse at different things. And lastly, no p4 and 5 as much as they have been reasonable fun in raids, we just need waaaay more NEW content and less re-worked content

Chromag was broken for us this week and the 2 (lockout chosen) breaths were coming out completely random so of course the timers from Foji weren’t correct which is fine, but with it being time lapse you really can’t have the breath be random and not knowing which one is coming until the cast bar, we still killed it after some wipes and a ton of extra LOSing, but just constant nonsense like that if it’s not one thing it’s another thing.
We one shot him the previous lockout with black and the three affix’s so it cost us about an extra hour or so of raid because they managed to break something else.
