AUDI A4 2L DEU engine (2015) - P200200 & P040100 error codes

P200200 - Particulate trap(bank 1), Efficiency below threshold;
P040100 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow, Insufficient Detected;
The faults detected during the vehicle scan were related to particular filter efficiency and insufficient exhaust gas recirculation flow. After conducting fuel tests, we pinpointed the issue to the EGR cooler. The EGR cooler assembly, responsible for cooling exhaust gases by utilising both exhaust gases and coolant, revealed a significant clog on one side. While one side appeared fine, the other, with its numerous holes, showed clear signs of blockage. This issue is a common cause of failure in two-litre engines and extends beyond this particular model, affecting many modern cars with similar EGR systems. The condensation and operational process over time contribute to duct blockages, making replacement the most effective solution, as cleaning the entire body proves to be challenging.
