Michael vs. the warehouse and its' crew always bring a cringey smile to my face. The forklift, the bailer (barely know her), the what's hanging Darryl, pudge, the nerf ball etc.
My favorite Jim joke was when he put slightly heavier weights in Dwight's phone then he removed all of them and he slammed the phone against his face trying to answer the phone.
What is so great about that one is the viewers never even saw it. Jim just explained and the audience imagined the prank in their head, and it’s such a simple prank that it’s ingenious.
Toby snapping his fingers at Michael saying "please don't throw these out, please don't throw these out" and the way Michael GLARES at him with murderous intent kills me every time 😂😂
2:55 Dwight: "you made it really funny, and then you went too far" -- I need a compilation of Dwight's calm, accurate commentary LOL like when Andy went too hard on Jim's phone joke
I love how every time Michael is roasting Toby they cut to Toby's face as he just takes the insults like at 3:52. The comedy is so expertly done in this show.
7:28 I never noticed that Creed nods when Prison Mike says "and then you run to the warden for protection", as if he's been through what Mike's talking about 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Michael may have only had two lines in the finale, but just his mere presence was enough to make us all emotional. But the thing is, only a few of the cast and crew actually knew Steve was gonna make a cameo for the finale. Much of his dialogue was cut at the table read. The entire scene where Jim surprises Dwight with Michael as his best man was left out, while Steve Carell’s line about his children growing up to marry each other was read by CREED! I'm glad Michael was the one to say it, because it would've been VERY weird if Creed said it. Steve didn't actually want to be in the finale, he was left uncredited in the finale because quite simply, he was fine with speaking so little. He didn't feel comfortable taking the spotlight from the cast after being away for so long. He felt Michael's story had ended when he originally left in Goodbye, Michael.
Calling jim’s pranks a running joke in The Office is like calling Ross and Rachel’s on/off relationship a running joke in friends. It’s not just a running joke, it’s an integral part of the show.
"Toby is in HR, which technically means he works for corporate, so he's really not a part of our family. Also, he's divorced so he's really not a part of his family" 💀Still one of my favorite Michael quotes. For those wondering, yes, that was Rainn climbing. Not a stunt double! They had their production designer and construction team rent a utility pole that matched the real one outside. They put it up in a parking lot between two soundstages and they put like a green padded platform around it in case Rainn fell. They then put up a green screen behind it. Rainn had a safety officer and a stunt coordinator, and he climbed up a few feet. Then through the power of visual effects, the visual effects team digitally added Rainn to the real pole.
The episode where Michael burns his foot and Dwight is sick, when they were in the room with the doctor and Dwight steals the "that's what she said" line was a classic.
I don't think it was forgetting to hate him, but really getting into celebrating him leaving. Finally he was openly hating him without eye rolls and groans from everyone else.
I came to the comments expecting a bunch of people saying you left out the running joke of Dwight screaming 'MICHAEL'. Haven't found a single one. I'm so proud of us.
There is a good video about it from Nerdstalgic. Essentially, Season 1 they tried to keep close to the UK version but ended up making Michael more into a villain. The showrunners realized they wouldn't last long if Michael wasn't a likable character, not to mention about half of the characters also had traits that would make a large percentage of the audience dislike them. There is a big difference between Season 1 and Season 2 due to those changes.
"Steve is an actor friend of ours!" I like to think she meant that 😊😁 the actor who plays Steve originally auditioned for the role of Jim - they brought him back for this gag
The best part about #4 is it’s actually management hating HR. At the end of S3, when David Wallace is talking to I think Jim about him coming to corporate, he mentions he’ll get along with everyone… except their HR rep. Then again, in S6E7, when Jim and Michael are in the kitchen talking about Pam’s mom, Toby comes by and says hi to Jim. Jim has always been super friendly with Toby, but now that he’s co-manager, he snaps at Toby and is just annoyed he’s there. Then when Dwight becomes manager at the finale, he i mediately fires Toby. It’s one of the nest runners in the show, IMO. That S6 scene always makes me crack up - as Toby’s leaving he says plaIntively, “What did I do?!” 😂😂
Okay but to be fair, the S6 scene was when he’d just found out Michael was sleeping with Pam’s mom. It fits the running joke theme you have going but it’s not really Jim hating him so much as reacting in shock. Unless I’m mixing my episodes.
I got promote to Deputy Supervisor once and god only knows I milked that position for giggles 🤣 I loved shaking peoples hands and saying “I’m deputy to the supervisor” 😂 To be fair, in my company it was impossible being manager considering there was 1 manager per location, but I really didn’t care, during meeting with corporate I would open by “As the deputy to the supervisor, my position is…”😂😂😂
I'm stuck between choosing "that's what she said" jokes and Jim's pranks lol. Michael get's upset when other people use the joke and gets laughs but the pranks are pretty funny and elaborate.
Which running joke is your favourite? Think long and hard about your answer...

Pam’s laugh at the jello prank is the most underrated moment ever. So cute
I love to imagine what pam and jim hear when Michael sees that Toby's back and screams.
