Great demo, maybe one of the best I've seen around of this amp!

Great amp, explination, and demo! Just a comment... Gibson made many versions of the Skylark, and you have the GA5 Skylark Crestline. The schematic you were looking at was an older schematic that was more like a Fender champ. The tubes in your amp are: 6AU7 (preamp), 6C4 (phase inverter), two 6AQ5's (power tubes) and a 6X4 (rectifier tube). It also puts out closer to 10 watts as it has two power tubes. I have the same amp, and love it.

Mid video, exploring the clean tones, just incredibly honest playing. Not sure how else to put it. Subscribed because of that alone.

That 5Y3 is your rectifier tube.

The 5Y3 is the rectifier, it's what turns the alternating current coming from the power transformer into direct current so the amp can work. Nowadays we have silicon diodes for that, but back then they had tubes for the job.

7:30 that dirty tone reminds me of Live's "Lakini's Juice"

Those amps came with a filter circuit. It may have been removed already. It sounds better without said filter, which is sometimes a single part. It’s very easy to bypass if it’s there it but should be done by someone who knows how to work on high voltage circuits.

How you use the radial baby in the amp???

so what i did is turn 1 guitar signal into 2, to run it into both channels of the amp at the same time and therefore get way more breakup of the amp

how are these guys at lower volume? Love the slightly more midrangey character of these vs champs

very clean amps but still have a little bark at lower volume! a little less "icepicky" than a typical fender clean amp
