It snowed when we visited Brussels in early December last year! A friend of ours who lives there said it was unseasonable that time of year, so it was lucky we experienced it! 🌨️
We've visited a handful of times in the past couple of years and find Brussels quite safe! While there is a lot of nightlife and (sometimes) chaos in the city center, we have felt secure being in the middle of it all. There are usually groups of police patrolling these areas. We're street smart and definitely aware of our surroundings, and we also haven't felt uncomfortable being out and about in Brussels day or night.
I just looked up Lisbon's Christmas markets and they look beautiful! How fun that the city decorates. I'm sure it's magical. I've visited Lisbon before during the summer!
Can you get by speaking English in Brussels, especially in the restaurants?? I don’t speak French or Dutch, so I was just wondering. I really want to visit Brussels one day. Do you and your best friend speak any languages other than English??
Great question! You absolutely can! Within the city center, nearly everyone speaks multiple languages, with English being one of them. We have visited the last two years and had no problem speaking English everywhere we went (especially in cafes, restaurants, etc.) We are learning other languages and like to know how to say a handful of words when we’re in non-English speaking countries, but Brussels seems to be very adapted to English speakers! I hope you get a chance to visit Brussels one day! Belgium is a beautiful country and Brussels is such a bustling and gorgeous city!!

Have you been to Tomorrowland in Belgium? This is THE HIGHLIGHT. It’s the best festival in the world. I am obsessed with their Neuhaus chocolates. I buy them in Milano but they are much cheaper in Belgium. The ganache corns are to die for. 😅 My Belgian friends don’t like Brussels, they advised us to go to Ghent, Bruges, Antwerp, Diant and lots of other places in Wallonia. I have been 5 times to Belgium and never saw Brussels. It looks amazing in your video.

The chocolates sound so good. We are obsessed with the waffles in Belgium, and always get them doused in their milk chocolate, haha. How cool you've visited those other cities. We've visited Antwerp, Bruges and Ghent before, and really liked them, too! Brussels is definitely a bigger city vibe, which we love. I'm so glad you watched this video and thought it looked amazing! I love Belgium, just not the weather 🤣 First time we visited Belgium it was around 40 degrees, as Belgium especially Flanders is full build, there isn’t much air. Me as Italian, who’s used to the heat it was way too warm for me. Second time it rained the 5 days we were there 😂 I love the Liege waffles but with nothing on top. And the purple cuberdon candies.
I love Italy and have luckily visited a handful of times! It's amazing, and one of my favorite countries in Europe. I've been to Milan a few times and would be interested to hear about other hidden gems in the city. We climbed to the top of the Duomo di Milano when we were there last summer and that was really cool. Yes, the Liege waffles are my favorite kind!! I've had them "plain" as well, and they are delicious!
