Using AllskEye with my ASI178MM - A guide to AllskEye/Allskycam
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 кві 2023
- The ASI178 ships with a 2.5 mm fisheye lens, which makes it perfectly suitable to be used with the software AllskEye. With an allskycam you can record the complete nightsky for session evaluation, meteor detection or just to record nice timelapses. In this video I'll give you an introduction to the software and how I use it.

very well explained Chris! This will help me setting up an AllskEye in my observatory. Servus from ED ;)
Thank you for the nice comment and servus back! ☺️
Excellent video Christian! Been looking to do something similar with a spare ZWO camera I have and this was a huge help! Thanks for sharing and best wishes from Scotland! :)
Hey Steve, thank you very much!☺️ Glad I could help you out. It's a nice application to add to the "normal" process of AP.
If you have any questions feel free to ask!
Best regards and CS!✨
This is all great, but then I see the lens prices, and they are extremely expensive :D How about talking about cheaper alternatives, like the raspberry pi HQ camera maybe?
Great video. I've been trying to get my Allskye camera setup built since Nov last year but having difficulty obtaining a clear dome for it. Hopefully get it done soon. Clear skies
Oh nice! So far Im still in the "finding out" phase :D I assume you use an ASI178, too? Good luck on the dome part! ☺️
Yes the 178.
Can you share details of the mini pc you are using in this video?
Sure, in this video I'm referring to the 'MeLe Quieter 2Q' (as of now there is already a 3rd version out)
Clear skies!
