018 Francis Kavanagh with Braden Gates

Francis Kavanagh doesn't just sing and play guitar for the songs he writes, he presents you with musical time travels. His music moves you in that way. It takes you to places you've never been, but have been, in a kind of strangely nostalgic jag. Too wordy? Give this show a listen. You'll get it.
Here's a great vocalist who has a great sense of time as he inhabits his songs right along side the listener. A big fan of Bob Dylan and John Prine, his songwriting craft is exceptional.
Francis is the main songwriter and vocalist for the "Joe Ireland Band".
We recorded this session on June 23 with a small studio audience. Francis was joined by Braden Gates and to say there was magic in the air would be an understatement. This is some of what makes Edmonton so great. We hope you enjoy Episode 18.
