Relating the ROG Ally to a console is wild lol as you said yourself you’re not a PC gamer you obviously don’t know how to adjust your settings on your games lol I can run Deadspace at a solid 60fps on my Ally 😂 stick to your consoles friend!
Thanks for keeping me honest Oscar! That's why I said I'm not a PC gamer. I did get it to run at that eventually just took some googling and troubleshooting and the frustration that comes with that when I just want to get in and play. I imagine it's less painstaking if you're a PC gamer and familiar with everything which is why I said that too. Again not hating on it, just prefer the plug and play convenience of playstation for now. I see what valve is doing with steam deck and streamlining the whole experience which is interesting. Glad all this stuff exists tbh.
But also worth mentioning was Halo multiplayer wouldn't work everytime. Like sometimes it would just get stuck on the start screen. Also Star Wars Battlefront II.. couldn't get that to open at all. Again, just the experience from someone who pretty much only plays playstation as I said.
His perspective is from a console player which is a large part of the market. A majority of gamers prefer pick up and play type products and the Ally/Steam Deck are great but require you to spend a bit of time to understand the settings. I enjoyed Seif Buys’ perspective as at the end of the day its all about convenience and saving time
If your gonna travel light then you cannot beat the phone and Backbone combination. In fact that's what most people would probably go with. Plus you can use it anywhere then unlike the Portal which is limited in the networks it can use.

I wish you could've dived more into the Rog Ally fir streaming (also potentially maybe the Chiaki app) Nonetheless I'm really glad that i found your video Im hesitating between the Rog Ally and the PS portal and your comparison was really helpful to determine what i could expect from either the Rog Ally and the Ps Portal

This is why I'm enjoying posting.. learn about a lot of new things from people commenting. Ya I tried streaming ps remote play and ps cloud streaming on the Ally and while passable, it just didn't compare to the relative seamlesness of the experience on the portal. Granted, I'm not a PC gamer (and have only used mac for past 13 yrs, save for a brief stint with microsoft surfacebook pro). So a lot of the frustration I ran into, might just be a walk in the park for you if you're familiar with Windows and PC gaming.
@@seifbuys From what i read Chiaki is the way to go when it comes to stream, some ppl on Reddit claim that it's even better than the native PS5 app so if you decide to give it a go and compare it to the ps portal I think it would be a very interesting subject imo Also i'd like to add that unlike some of the other viewers, i find it extremely important that you,as a console gamer share your point of view since the main subject is the performance of remote play options and therefore you don't have to be an MIT graduate in digital engineering to give your opinion on the subject

I mainly go to UA-cam looking for regular peoples real life opinions (biases and all), not necessarily expert opinions, though I do like referring to both whenever making purchases like this!
30fps rog ally...? meanwhile... I'm at the park playing deadspace3 on ultra settings, 120hertz and 85 fps on ROG ALLY. ANYTHING UNDER ULTRA I CAN EASILY GET OVER 100 FPS. IMO the rog ally is in its own class and should NOT be compared to portal or backbone AT ALL!!! And yes, I have ALL 3.
