U.N. officials raised concerns about the insufficient supplies and fuel available to support the people of Gaza amid Israel's military actions against Hamas militants. The closure of the Rafah crossing has halted the delivery of 82,000 metric tonnes of supplies, while access at Israel's Kerem Shalom crossing is limited due to various challenges. Egypt cited the threat to aid work from Israel's military operation as the reason for the crossing closure. Israel's military actions in response to a previous attack by Palestinian militants have disrupted aid access in southern Gaza, leading to a significant number of people fleeing the area.
