Some bumpers were gated on hinges for the camper waste water reservoir. Usually had to remove tailgate to accommodate. Some bumpers were extended permanently to allow for heavy trailers as well.
Interesting. I've never run across any documentation on either of these. I've only seen documentation on the bumpers that would extend out. Please post a link if you find any documentation on these other setups. thanks!
Hey guys! Interesting truck! Once you have it done it’ll be solid as it was new. I am confident in that because about 4 years ago you guys sold me new floors and box patches for my 76 F150 4x4. The quality of your parts was excellent and the metal gauges were the same as original. I am really pleased. It is my daily driver and I really enjoy it.
Once you get through the videos you'll that it's done now, and you're right, you can jump up and down on the floors without any movement! Glad our parts helped with your project as well.
Nice truck! I have a couple of these dent sides. Have a 74 and a 79 both are extra cabs. looking forward to getting them back on the road like yours. Enjoyed seeing what you did to yours.
I have a 78 Coachman that is perfect for that. With the longer wheel base it balanced the offset of the camper that is rear heavy. My high boy ride nose high. Nice find Bro!
I had the 72 F 250 Sport Custom Camper Special 23 yrs did a complete restoration sold it 6 yrs ago, I miss that truck today.

HD cooling too on super camper specials
That big plate for hole is prob that they had a 5th wheel on it. Could be factory too.
the bed is longer than 8 feet.. yours has lost its giant rear tires.. they came with 12.5 x 16.5 rear tires.. same capacity of dual wheels of the time
