  • Ricardo dos Santos has hit out at the Met Police for a heavy handed approach after he was stopped by seven armed officers whilst driving home. The Portuguese sprinter shared three videos online of the moment he was pulled over by "seven armed officers" whilst driving in London at 4am on Saturday.
    It comes just two years after Ricardo dos Santos and his Team GB athlete girlfriend, Bianca Williams, were pulled over by Met police when they were travelling with their young baby in Maida Vale.

    What a joke. You need to watch the whole video. When I was younger I was stopped 11 times in one week in my mini. I stopped every time. I didn't speed off and refuse to stop then refuse to leave the vehicle. If they had stopped straight away none of this would have happened. Also you couldn't see what colour person was driving because of the tinted windows.

    • @mnnh1
      @mnnh1 6 місяців тому

      Except some cops don’t always treat you fairly. And will even at times go out of their way to bring you down. This is why you need to know the law applicable as best as you can and always record interactions in full. I’m getting a body worn camera I can enable when I get stopped by cops along with my dashcam of course. Problem with a phone is if they handcuff you you cannot support it. You won’t capture everything they say or do on video but you will have a version of your own to use as you please. Their video evidence from their bodycams is almost always withheld and if they do release it to you and your solicitor it’s has often been redacted and edited by the time you get hold of it. If they are doing their jobs properly they will have nothing to fear from any recording made of an interaction.
      Remember to ask what under what power or legal authority you are being asked to do something. Cops are known for asking you permission and using that to sneakily obtain your consent for something you do NOT have to consent to. That easily mistaken by citizens as lawful order when they have NO legal authority to do what they are doing unless you CONSENT to it. For example a cop may ask to look in your car for something. He may have no legal authority to search but if you say yes, you’ve just given him a get out of jail card. If he has the legal authority to search he should say I am searching you vehicle under such and such a power. Make sure to capture this kind of statement on video and give it to your solicitor.Finally get their badge number and name. They are required to provide these, in the same way as you are required to identify yourself when stopped,

      Claim about race was dismissed by the investigations. The cops got sacked for lying/ falsifying evidence. Which of course is very serious. Your money to cops who got fired for falsifying evidence and effectively perverting the course of justice? Are you going to give some of your money to other corrupt murderous cops like Mark Couzens as well? People have a right to be suspicious of some of these officers. There was no reasonable suspicion of being in possession of a prohibited item as required by PACE 1984, in this instance. So these cops made one up by lying about smelling marijuana……fortunately this couple had the presence of mind to make a complaint, and look, the cops got found guilty of gross misconduct. Sorry but there is no place for rogue cops on our streets ….
