When I was 5 we lived in the country outside of Indianapolis and our rural neighborhood did not have a nearby church. So, one day a small farm came up for sale and a bunch of the neighbors pooled their $$ and bought it. The intent was to convert the milking barn into a chapel. There was an old concrete silo EXACTLY like you have there and the men punched holes around the base then tied a rope from the top to the back of my dads pickup truck & he simply pulled it over. It was quite a show. !
wondering if you knock out one block on each side , run a chain thru and tie both ends to all the chains you have and can borrow , then pull from a safe distance w/tractor , would this pull out all the blocks on one side ? safer if it'd work .
Nobody died, but the potential was there. What the hell are spectators doing in the danger zone? Did anyone pay attention in physics class? I saw 1000 different Final Destination moments in one video. Glad it went the way it did, but JUST DAMN!
thy can be glad there was no forward out blast, could of hit the vehicle, lol,the roof had the potential to be driven forward by the down draft, they were very lucky,
Nice take down. Not quite as good as the dude using his Dodge Intrepid, but fun to watch. I wasn’t sure if the fella was trying to cut the bands or push it over 6 million dollar man style.
@@angrybobking5083 that what i said to myself , pretty dumb , they have tractors , but use a truck . but they never pull to get the silo down ,, lucky they did not get killed
Nice job! Cleaning all that concrete up is the real job now! Thanks for sharing!
The old dude can still swing it 👍

Now it is time for all those who have never taken down a silo to tell you what you did wrong.
Now it's time for those who have a chip on their shoulder to deny common safety sense has a place in conversations.

Another guinniousyoure a moron.
Duh, he’s supposed to knock out the side you want to fall on not the opposite side😂😂
Once she started falling, truck ought to have kept pulling.

The guy was nuts for walking behind that thing
You probably better have a cable at the top of that instead of a rope
Doing it the Dibna way!
Why didn’t you pull out the unloaded and seek it before you brought the silo down?
Nobody got killed Yea...
They needed a certain Mr Dibnah.
High powered Rifle at a distance works like a Charm... Just Saying
Instead of the titled towers we have the hill billy towers
Why?
Did you take down the siloh? It looked like it was imperfectly good sbabe , just a question
Well, it had quite a few blocks missing at the top, this is no longer an operational farm, and there is an addition to the barn being built there
are you blind?
SpaceX could put a few rockets under that thing and launch it into space ! 🤔
I'm sorry was The silo crooked as long as a concrete solo is straight Make it last forever
If you have Amish in your community, they'll usually take it down in exchange for the staves.
Can you image climbing up a high silo all the time to open a door. Dry dangerous
yes i can
They've got tractors and backhoes, and they're out there working with a sledgehammer and a guy pulling on a rope...
Boys with toys.
Don't that just frost you
A stubborn ol early Madison. Old Badger surface drive.
Yep you nailed it. 14x30
why would u tear down a monument of the last farmer
Making room for a new shed.
It had broken blocks and silos are tools not monuments. The barn was being expanded and it was in the way.
Why didn’t they take the blower pipes off to begin with?
They tried, but the ladder was not secure enough to climb up to take the last clamp off
Minigun
Typical farmer don't spend any money on anything...my grandpa from MN was a cheapskate on EVERYTHING
Well, turns out those were the paid professionals 🤣

Sometimes they land like that then fall backwards into the barn. You amateurs got lucky. This time.
Are you a professional?
@@tordkarl No, there are a number of UA-cam fails showing what happens when it goes wrong. You guys were lucky.
@@toonertimesfour1158, I’m not one of them. I live in Sweden, was raised on a farm and know how to tear down a silo.
Typical haphazard brother n cuz operators.
City boy.😊
So much done so wrong from placing the extension ladder unsafely onward.
Stupid people. Use a tra tor to pull it over after cut was made. Dont wait for gravity to pull it down. That was a twenty minute job.
you can see the tractor in the back with a flat tire 🤷

Don't laugh, Trump voters.
Yup, they have jobs.
