This is going to be my seventh year since I started to hunt elk and I watched probably more than thousand of videos and tips from everyone that posting on you tube Just recently come up across your stuff and this is probably 🔝 10 tips and advises that you can see it, explaining it in details how to glass, stalks, wind and thermal … Everything that I watched from you is amazing Thank you for sharing it and I hope it will bring up your name to the level you deserve it 👏🤛
I just wanna say that Cliff knows his stuff. I’ve learned a lot from watching these videos and have improved my hunting skills by 10x. Thanks again Cliff for making these great videos. You are very well detailed oriented and that’s what makes you great at what you do. 👍
What set up for a phone adapter are ya using? Just bought a 85mm razor vortex. Just getting into glassing. Love your info. I think I'd love to be able to attach my phone to it. Any info would be awesome. Thanks!
Love the glass with the grain tip. Our family of four will be hunting w NL Pure 8x32, Trinovids 10x42, nikon 10x42 range and NL pure 12x42 this year for elk. Mainly lodge pole pine, w transition to alpine and along burn edges. Glassing areas from tripods 200-1000 yards. Is it worth packing in a heavy scope, or will the 12s suffice?
Unless it's a unit where you will be trying to do the nitty gritty of judging bulls from a distance, your twelves on a tripod will be fine. You can tell a "nice bull" vs a spike from 1,000+yds with 12s. As my knees have started to fail on me, I almost never pack both big nocs and a scope... I choose one or the other based on what I'm hunting/guiding.
The phone skope is for taking pictures, recording interesting things and wildlife from a distance. It isn’t a very effective tool for actual glassing. It is also handy if you can record shots on animals - that way you can rewatch it and see if it hit/missed.
Pinion trees aren't very high up. The hard part of glassing is finding somewhere there is a view of the area you want to glass. The area you may find might require you to move to different spots to be able to see all you want to see. In the pinion country like he is sitting I have seen 7 elk walk behind a pinion tree and completely disappear never to be seen again. I walked to the spot and there was a small draw behind the tree and all those elk walked single file away from me.
Videos like this are great, I'm bewildered as to how you don't have more views/subs
I appreciate that! Glad you found them helpful. Thanks

Also , regarding my Swarovski 15x56 I use the Swarovski's winged eye cups to help keep out ambient light while I am glassing they work terrific
This is exactly the help I've been looking for

Quality video. Thank you sir.
Great video. Thank you!
You bet!
Would you recommend the phone scope attachment for glossing or just use your eyes on the scope

Hey Cliff
What do you use for Bullet drop Data ??
Range finder? with Kestrel or phone app ?
I use a basic app on my phone. I print out a small drop chart before each hunt, tape it to my stock.
Great job 👍💯
Thank you Sir 💯👍
