June is broken in the sense that she is rightfully bitter after all she's been through and her evilness here over Janine demonstrates a distinction between who is likely to survive and who isn't. At the end, Janine was strengthened by June's words to the point that she would later ask Aunt Lydia to just send her to the colonies so that she could face her demise rather than being a victim any longer. That's a bold request that not many handmaids would ask for.
