@@casie6609 not in every scene...and thats what makes her acting even more amazing, you can see skin texture , she looks like a woman without make up in here for sure ...her eyebrows arent done and etc...btw I watched some behind the scenes stuff and they said that none of the handmaids are using make up , Medeline Brewer asked from writers that maybe she could wear just a little eyeliner ( in her flashback scenes) and they said that No in the beginning...they said that its not that kind of show but Madelene still got to wear a little eyelinder in flashback scenes...in flashback scenes June is wearing make up as well( only very light make up) but yes handmaids none of them wears make up( excpet brises and all that stuff :D )

I think, with his philosophying nature, he might have helped just because he wanted to know what happens. He seems interested in psychology. He could have helped Emily, because he simply found her interesting person. Also, he had the one-eyed Martha Cora, and took in June after all her troubles... He seems to intentionally pick people that are somehow unique.

He was a loser before Gilead. Gilead offered him a chance at power and influence, where he could never achieve it by legitimate means. Look at Fred. He was nobody before Gilead, but he used his wife’s movement to become a Commander in Gilead.
I think this is just another level of acting when she said "you still think this is your house", and gives A LITTLE SMIRK, AND HER FACE GOES DEAD, JUST BOLD STARING AT HIM. Man, this show is crazy.
I kinda have a love hate relationship with commander Lawrence. Hate because he's the visionary behind Gilead but he tries to right his wrongs and he also gives a caring vibe to Emily and June when he accidentally lets his guard down. And I love the sarcasm. That makes him hilarious. But when she asks you still think this is your house? He could have shut it down or called for guardians to take them all away. I think he created something that turned out to be an entirely different thing from what he wanted. Even though he is very intelligent I don't think he imagined what humans are really capable of when given a bit of power. At least I would like to hope he isn't just plain evil any way. Never read the book so I'm at a loss for the actual characters intentions. Lmao

In this scene she is putting him in check and telling him to get his shit together if he wants to make a difference. Gilead is Joseph's fault.

So yes his obligated to help. And thats a horrible thing to say to someone who has been raped, beaten and almost kill many times. Which was all caused by Joseph

Lawrence planted the seeds of Gilead therefore is responsible for the rape and mutilation of billions of women. He hstripped them of their humanity. He’s not even being put in his rightful place when June takes control, he’s taking a fraction of what he owes. And you think he deserves respect from the woman he raped? For saying sorry?
The fact you want something bad to her after she’s already been stripped of her humanity really says a lot and its worrying. Hope in these 3 months after this comment you got yourself a reality check.

I think this is one of Elisabeth's best scenes in the show. And it's hard to pick, but I just love her delivery here.
