I started smoking at the age of 13.. Dad smoked because he said it helped him with stress. My family life among other things was not good, so I figured I would give it a shot.. by the time i was 19, i was smoking 1-2 packs a week. I noticed how it was affecting my health and how it made me smell. I tried quiting seveal times on my own without success. When I was 21, God put a gal in my life (thats a story for another time) anyhow really enjoyed being with her, however, she was allergic to the smoke and couldn't be around it. That was the push i needed to finally quite. About 3 years later we married and its been about 25 years since i had a cigarette. Point is, sometimes, it takes us letting God put the right people in our lives.

I agree . We expect results NOW. We don't want to work for the positive results.

We usually don't commit to what we say,we say it by mouth not from the heart.

God made our brains wonderful & incredible. To learn how it works & how to change our thoughts & actions for the better is so worth the challenge. I have found that often the busyness of life gets in the way of New Year’s resolutions and then if we miss or slip up once we quit.

Quiting is easy when no one is holding you accountable.

Or rather, when you don't let someone (including the Holy Spirut) hold you accountable.

I feel like what we want to change is work and our bad habit is just that a habit. I think a lot of times we quit without realizing we are back into our “force of habit”

I’m researching the brain neural-plasticity of the brain and it actually takes much longer to stop doing a bad and replacing with a new habit. It’s closer to 100+ days.

They don't want their revolutions to become a habit. IS THIS REALLY WORTHWHILE? Yes, it is worth it, but they give up NOT seeing the results or its not the kind of results they wanted. God shows miracles, but its NOT how you think he needs to answer the prayer you spoke.
