Hello at your own risk, you could add black into the basecoat .
i wanted to change the color of my crown vic to that but the shop said 3 grand plus the cost of paint

Hi im going to paint my sons car in this colour. I have seen on VG auto paint web site that acrylic clear coat can be used over DNA paint. Can i use black acrylic paint under the blue if so what would be best flat ,satin or gloss.@@DNAPaints

Hi Natasha i don't see why you couldn't use it for painting with a brush providing you don't over reduce it. however our paints are designed for spraying . let us know how you go
how would it be over white bass
Being a dark colour, it would probably come up much much lighter and wouldn’t have that “midnight” initial look to it

@@alandawson1197 I don’t work for DNA paints. I’m just a guy that sells it in a shop and likes the look of the product. Putting the colour over different bases would simply change the shade of the colour. It wouldn’t actually create a brand new colour. They would have to change the actual blue itself to classify it as a brand new colour

Hi Alan as Damian said our colours are designed for the ground coat colour . some candy basecoats over different ground coats will require more coats of top coat colour and may not even get coverage . we always recommend following our TDS to achieve the colours we promote . cheers

I’m about to paint El-nino this weekend on my motorcycle tins. I was told to use B114 bazecoat but the TDS says Grey.
Would be cool to see you spray out this colour too.
This blue is amazing by the way
Cheers, we recently changed our TDS for El nino orange , the grey base is more suitable as this colour requires more coats for coverage.
@@DNAPaints since I already had the base coat here and had to paint it this weekend just gone, I got it knocked out with the white base anyway. Colour looks magic. For someone that isn’t a spray painter and using a home garage, I’m impressed how this all come out. Thanks for the reply too :)
How do I get the lighter blue at 3:54 all through the paint without it going to black in the shade?
by using a blue pearl over a black base , it will always be blue in all kinds of lighting

What type of Paint Gun is recommended for this type of paint?
hello Erin , any spray gun brand is suitable , however we can recommend spraying with a HTE . depending on the product your spraying anywhere from a 1.2-1.7mm is suitable

I'm trying to color match 2000 silverado indigo blue metallic and it's been a pain this is close though you know where I could get close to the exact color wa-9792
Hi mate , to get close to a factory color the best bet is to check the tinters in the formula and use those tinters to match the color .

You can use a dark grey/black primer and paint this color with similar results if you don't want to use a black base

our Color Codes would not be any help to you im afraid if your plan was to mix it up your self . our colors are Custom. not OEM
