Google Maps - 40°32'21.4"N 141°33'46.2"E - Filmed next to the blue science museum. Luckily it looks like this town was protected from the full force of the tsunami by being a north facing open bayed port, they did get the swell and rise of the sea which flooded the town, but it could have been much worse. Either you run and care for your life or you do a good footage, the quality of many of those footages is so bad it seems they have never ever held a camera up before - but then suddenly, they feel the urge to film such a devastating event. So even if the comment above may seem disrespectful, there is a certain point to it.

実は当時小学生4年生の時左手に見える線路のもうちょっと行った先でで津波の様子を見ました。今でも鮮明に覚えています。津波が怖いとか家屋が壊されたり流されて行くまさが悲しいという感情はむしろなく、ただただ目の前に起こっていることを受け止めるだけで精一杯だったのかと今振り返って思います。長文になってしまいすいません。たまたま何かの縁でこの動画に出会えたので私の体験をここに書いておきます。

地震発生当時 夜勤明けで熟睡中でしたが
激しい揺れで 覚醒しました。
あと一日で 10年を迎えますが
被災地各地の 完全復興、犠牲になられた方々の御冥福を心から祈ること、
被災された方々の心より御見舞い申し上げるとともに
ふたたび 同様の震災が起こった時に より少ない 被害にとどまるように努める必要性を 見つけて 後世に伝え続けていく 責任を あらためて強く感じております。

よく釣りに行きます、自分の家に発電機があったためテレビで見てました、小学1年の終わり頃だったと思う
発電機を持ってきてくれた祖父は10月に亡くなってしまいましたが、祖父とは一本松や取り壊された宮古の役場後？など見に行き、とても考えさせてくれる祖父でした。日本、世界が平和である事、3、11みたいな地震が起きても、誰も死んでほしくないと願っています！

先日母の故郷の八戸を30年振りに訪れ、蕪島にもお参りしました。
蕪嶋神社の階段にあった津波到達地点の標示や休憩施設にあった震災当時の写真を見て線路に避難してる方々の写真もあり衝撃的でした。
二度とこのような災害が起こらない事を切に願ってます。
一見小さく見えるこの波が人々の暮らしを奪ったんだよな…
俺が捨ててしまった故郷。まだ焼失してしまう前の蕪島神社が写ってるね。この時八戸にいたけどあの地震は忘れられない。
捨てたわけでは、ないはずです！
