I have lived in Fremont since 1981, and it has lost it's home town luster. Looking to move out.Mission San Jose high school is a pressure cooker of a school that is where my daughter gose to.
Totally appreciate the comment. Most places will change and when you have a top school like Mission San Jose, it will continue to be a spiral that way. Fortunately if you own a home, the value of a home has done very well, so you can always move to nearby neighborhoods or cities that isn’t as hyper competitive .
Lived in Fremont my entire life...35 years...yeah it has it's downs but it has so many ups. I am so grateful I got to grow up here and then work for the city here as well. If you're looking for a kind, accompanying...genuine place...Fremont is gonna be it! My neighborhood which was isolated and just a beacon of amazing growing...up..ness....proved to be so cultivating even during the pandemic because we were so accepting of one another. Fremont is like that, in ways anyone who joins will see. I miss my hometown....viciously....but I know there will be folks joining that will continue that trend of Fremont being accepting and fun! Visit the movie drive in, see the concerts, have your kids join the camps, become one with Caplin in Niles, get your thrifting on, climb Mission Peak and see the BAY or go to Coyote Hills and do the same! Fremont really has so much to offer and I was so fortunate to experience so much of it...what ever i could! Go explore what I couldn't!
You didnt talk much about Niles district and the schools there! Also Fremont in general has excellent schools and there are ways to live in one district and have you child go to the school of another district.
Lived in Fremont most of my life. It has its perks, or had its perks. Lots of places I loved are no longer there or out of business. I would still say it's a nice place to visit, but I cannot stomach living there anymore.
