- Nandi Hills Bangalore is an ancient hill station in Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka State. Nandi Hills Karnataka, situated at a distance of 60 kms from Bangalore is an ideal weekend getaway for people.
The best way to reach Nandi Hills is by personal vehicle. Alternatively, you can take KSRTC buses from Bangalore Bus Stand and reach Nandi Hills within 2-3 hours from Bangalore City. You can also go to Chikballapur, which is located at a distance of 10 km from Nandi Hills. There are frequent bus services from Chikkaballapur Bus Stand to Nandi Hills and vice versa.
There are many beliefs about the name of Nandi Hills. This hill is called Nandi Hills because it looks like a sleeping bull. Some people say that the name of this hill is derived from an ancient temple and the idol of Nandi situated on the hill.
Nandi Hills is also home to many temples. Yoga Nandeeshwara Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in the Nandi Hills. This temple was built by the Chola king and attracts many visitors.
This place was used as a summer retreat by the famous ruler Tipu Sultan. His summer residence can still be seen in Nandi Hills.
Apart from historical sites and heritage monuments, Nandi Hills is also famous for its trekking trails, cycling routes and adventure sports.
Tourists mostly come here to watch the sunrise and sunset. Hence, the best time to visit Nandi Hills is early morning or evening.

Bangalore se direct nandi hill ke liye bus available hai kya ? Agar haa to wo nandi hill me kaha chhodti hai ? Waha se main view point tak jane ke liye paidal jana hoga ya auto / bus milti hai ?
Bangalore Majestic Bus Stand se apko direct bus mil jayega, lekin bus mostly early morning ko available rehta hai. Bus apko hill ke upar entrance gate par drop kar dega. Entrance gate se view point dekhne ke liye aap walk kar sakte hai ya phir safari van.

Bro, is it mandatory to book for nandi hills over weekend, becoz recently we heard that post booking only they will allow at the entrance?
I have recently visited Nandi Hills and that also on Sunday and there was no such system in place. I went to the entrance gate and easily got the tickets. There was not even long queue.
What are the bus timings from majestic to Nandi hills and what is the bus numbers?
Bus from majestic departs in the morning generally around 8 am. Its red colour KSRTC bus.

How comfortable is it for senior citizens? I understand private vehicles cannot go till the views point? Is it a climb or walkable especially for young children and elders?
Nothing to worry. Nandi Hills is for all age people. You can take private vehicle till the entrance and from there you can hop on safari bus which will take you to the main view point. Form the main view point you can explore all the places on foot as most of them are close to each other. Even though the climb is not very steep from the entrance. Wish you a happy and memorable experience.

Thanks for watching my vlog. It's not always rainy in Nandi Hills. I visited Nandi Hills during the end monsoon, so it was the case. However, you can expect cloud or mist formations during early morning.

Early morning is the best time to visit to see sunrise. Monsoon is also good season to visit.

If you want to go to Nandi Hills from Bellandur, then you can take bus from there and go to Majestic Bus Stand and from Majestic Bus Stand, you can hop on Bus for Nandi Hills. Remember buses from Majestic to Nandi Hills are not frequent. However, it will not be possible to see sunrise if you go by bus. I don't have much idea about hotels as i did same day trip but there are good accommodation options out there. Best option would be to take a cab by midnight and reach out there before sunrise, cover all the attraction and return back.

Majestic bus stand. Buss are mostly in the morning. Alternatively you can go to Chikkaballapur bus stand from there you will get frequent buses to Nandi Hills.

So, what I mention in the video may not be valid tomorrow. Anyway Nandi Hills is quiet affordable. I suggest you to visit it once. I hope you will enjoy there.

Did you mean you want to go on foot from the entrance of Nandi Hills? If you don't take bus and go on foot from the main entrance then it will take around 2 to 3 hours to cover all the main attractions.
