The bride throws rice at Indian weddings like the way they throw flower bouquet in christian weddings except the fact that the rice is not to be caught by anyone . It's for good luck
What’s more fun is that you can literally make a whole podcast on Indian weddings since every state has its own style of weddings according to their respective cultures ;))
In India too we throw rice. Sometimes rice is mixed with petals and sometimes only perals are used ( mostly in Buddhist wedding to avoid the wastage of rice)
Total opposite! In Hinduism we wear entire white in funerals 😅😅. In Marriage, bride is supposed to wear red, or close to red basically bright dark vibrant contrasting colours, or differences as per regions like Kerela (it's white with gold predominantly) and Gujarat (white with red or other bright colours), etc are preferred. Also the many outfits, many performances etc is because Indian weddings (specifically hindu weddings) last for days, many rituals, practices, worshippings, etc.
In Hinduism bride is NOT supposed to wear red. That's the minority in North side only. The Hinduism culture says "ONLY Black is forbidden". So, Hindu brides wear ALL kinds of colors, but even black embroidery won't be there.
6:22 this is why efra weddings songs are loved in Bollywood movies… that wedding song from yeh jawani hai deewani might look bit unnecessary from outsiders pov but for Indians it’s much needed and fun :)))
Dance and music is so ingrained in our lives that it is a huge part of every celebration. Families putting together dance performances, uncles, aunts, grabdparents and kids dancing and singing together are the norm at Indian weddings. That’s provably why you felt the dance song in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani was so out of place, but if there is a wedding scene in a movie, we would expect a dance song for sure!
Even the poorest people in India have this type wedding which usually but have very low budget. This is very normal in India. Indian weddings generally lasts more or less a week.
yes, Indian weddings are like this . There are so much fun like dancing, singing, delicious foods, games which wedding couple play etc. I mean so much fun ❤❤❤❤😍😍
The last video is of a famous actress Surbhi Chanda and she sang that song herself for her groom. Some people says that she is overacting in that entry because they have only seen her in TV serials but her true fans know that she is really just like this. She is so out going. This is what real Surbhi is and we love her so much.
Indian weddings are nutsss!!! There's nothing like indian weddings , preparations starts from like more than 4-5 months and we practice for like a month for our wedding dances , indian weddings last for like a week and there is a whole day dedicated to dance out these days which is known as "sangeet" and everyone perform in it and about those dresses those are common wedding attires known as ghagra (bride's) shervani (groom's) and all the people around too wear ghagra kurtas sarees etc and everyone looks absolutely gorgeous 🤌 2-3 outfits per day and all of them equally beautiful ✨️ there are a loads of functions and rituals!! In short weddings are a big real big deal in india we dance we sing we enjoy we eat we celebrate happy moments and indian weddings are nothing less than a festival!! Me being a MARWADI would recommend you to attend a marwadi wedding once in your life , marwadi weddings are love 🫶✨️🤌
I think u are misunderstanding.. She is not dancing for her husband.. In fact, all of us just love love Dancing and Singing... ❤❤ So, weddings are something where everyone just wants to dance and have fun.. Especially the bride and the groom.. Us indians (well most of us) never actually miss the chance to have party and dance even if it's a religious or cultural event... We have a special event in our weddings called 'sangeet' just for having dances and most of the time, every member of both the families perform and sort of have a competition.. So yeah, that's very much a part of our culture.. Love u guys a lot❤
We hire choreographers to prepare various dances of bride, families from both sides, sometimes groom too and they rehearse for like a month or two so its very hard that you'd find bad ones. You can find good and then better ones 😂 Its so fun though...one of the most enjoyable parts of the weddings
These are traditionally Hindu Indian weddings (some ceremonies and rituals in them can differ depending on regions). You must've heard that it's a multiple day event, "Sangeet" (literally means singing/music) is the event where people usually do full-on performances. The tradition was just to have 1 event to celebrate and get both families to mingle. Earlier it used to be about just casually sitting around singing and impromptu dancing but slowly with movie culture, it's become this large-scale performance idea.
according to indian culture white is wear when someone die and in old time widow women use to wear white cloth only, red is the colour for marriage ( which symbolise bonding with blood(red) and love(red heart)). black is also big no= bcz it attract negative energy. but of couse world is changing so does custumes. ( but for me, i still find logic and science behind it).
The last one herself is a tv actress so yeah it is even more grand but yeah that's pretty normal.. Earlier we used to have these performances at a smaller scale but now they are very grand just like some show... And now you know why we absolutely need all those wedding songs in the movies..?? Yeah so that we can use them for performances in real weddings.. 😌😂
Actually all the art forms like painting, crafting, music, dancing are an integral part of indian culture and marriages that’s why it’s so normal in indian weddings… rangoli, mehendi, decorations, sangeet nights, maayra, bulauva and so many things related to the art❤❤❤❤
Guys Indian weddings are not less than Bollywood movies as you can get to see dance, music as well as there are some rituals that include bride and groom playing games not like running and stuff but some small games.. And every ritual that is being done in the Indian wedding have a reason behind it... Apart from that since you know India is a huge country with diversity in every field.. So the Indian weddings are differently done in different states of India.. ❤ India's unity in diversity is beautiful and I am a proud Indian.. ❤😊
Singing and Dancing is normal in Indian weddings. But this kind of *cinematic* weddings are part of upper middle class to rich people. Although every wedding is very beautiful and fun to watch.
Indian wedding are crazy and also very expensive It's not a function of one day or two there are various customs and ritual which last for a week All the relatives and cousins leave in one gose for days and enjoy every moments It's one of the life's best experience The guests invited in wedding are more then 200 (at the very least) I would recommend you to experience a Indian wedding once I hope you would be reacting to more Indian weddings
the last video is of a actress walking down the isle on her wedding and the song that is playing is sung by her and written by her groom. and neither of them are singers or songwriters.
Fun fact one of my friends in college had her parents' 25th wedding anniversary recently and not only was the event insanely lavish but they also called Javed Ali for performing. You bet your as$ I was jamming my soul to Guzarish, Kun Faya Kun, Nagada and all.
You both NEED to know more about indian weddings because literally i wrote an essay on 'WEDDINGS' in 5th grade when the topic was 'MY FAV FESTIVAL'. you think Diwali is grand? you think Holi is fun? you think Eid-Dussehra has best food? you think New years are Charity? you think republic day is crowded? Wait till you attend a Wedding.
❤ 😂Throwing Rice at newly married couple is a ritual copied from Hindu marriage ceremony by the world cultures, and it is to bless them with prosperity in their wedded life.❤
Now since you guys are a little bit familiar with Indian weddings (probably 1%), does that "RANDOM SONG" in Yeh Jawani hai Diwani make any sense to you which you say was very random and doesn't have to be in movie. PS: Oh man, you mentioned it 6:30 lol😂😂😂😂
Though dancing and singing is a major part of most Indian weddings, this type of choreographed dancing is not a compulsory thing. Its completely optional and depends on the families if they want to do it. Unchoreographed dancing and traditional songs is inescapable though 😂
A lots of desi people can actually dance, like professionally 🤷♀️ our parents mostly want us to learn anything and everything, Singing, Dancing, painting are the most common hobbies they pick, and made the child learn at the age of 4 but also they don’t want us to persue our Career in these side, it’s only a hobby, so that whenever family gathering happens they can made us dance / sing and brag about it 🤷♀️ Otherwise they want us to become Doctor, Engineers, Lawyers, magistrate etc🤦♀️
No way...I was just looking for Indian wedding videos ...and suddenly this video popped up... So happy ...anyways big fan of your channel since 2 years..
Hell yess!!! Indian weddings are this way each and every single wedding is this grand always. Indian weddings can cost 15k- 20k $ in an average . And it takes a whole week to complete all the rituals. So there are dancing ceremonies all day everyday as it is in our culture
In south indian weddings, the guests throw rice mixed with turmeric and flower petals at the couple at the exact time when they tie the knot. The couple also pour rice on each other's head after the wedding.
The video where you see Anisha K dancing so gracefully, she's actually a professional dancer. Also, all of her friends on the stage are pro. You should definitely watch that video as a whole, it's around 8-10 mins long or even more.
no she is NOT a character from Bajirao Mastani she is a character from Ishqbaaz omg i love her so f*cking much btw she is Surbhi Chandna and my girl sang the song on her wedding herself also if you by any chance check her show Ishqbaaz out you will know everything there is to indian weddings that show's whole cast was at her wedding and honestly you will get a whole damm toturial on weddings with that tv show 🤣🤣 then again don't watch it subtitles are terrible in english
Indian wedding are a carnival, a lot of spending and drama and absolute fun, it’s a day for the bride and groom to be a celebrity , btw we also throw rice here in India when the bride leaves with the groom :)
Efra in india we have sangeet( musical) night where relatives, friends perform dance and some sing too. Its a ritual in most weddings in india. We have haldi(turmeric) ritual, sangeet( musical night), henna (mehendi) night ritual. Our culture is different and grand as compare to other countries.
You have to attend the Indian wedding dear 😁😁 you will definately mad and crazy to enjoying our culture ❤❤❤❤😂😂😂 react more and know more about us and our weddings and culture ❤❤
The last video is of Actress Surbhi Chandna and she got married to her longtime boyfriend of 13 years. The song was sung by her. LIKING THIS VIDEO ONLY FOR SURBHI. Btw, i suggest you guys to know others culture well before commenting anything.
*India(that is Bharat) have a very big 4.74(almost 5) trillion wedding economy which is growing 27% rate yes we celebrate like this & it's depend on budget 😅 but more or less like this only*

You people should see South Indian wedding dances, they're fire 🎉. It's not that I am dividing north and south it's just cultural aspects are different.
just came back from my cousin's wedding lol...and for the sangeet my cousin (the bride) has warned all of us cousins like 'u better prepare well we have to perform better than the groom side!✊"😂 Almost like its some dance/music competition bride side vs groom side Also, desi brides dress in anything BUT white lol (cos here widows usually wear white💀)
I wanna say smthg for u guys is that Indians don't wear white dresses for special occasions cuz in Indian cultures white is worn only when some one is died /at only funerals

The last wedding video, this bride is an actress from Indian serial. Her name is Surbhi chanda .
And my favourite anika❤
Surbhi chandana*
The bride throws rice at Indian weddings like the way they throw flower bouquet in christian weddings except the fact that the rice is not to be caught by anyone . It's for good luck
Yes... Same
For prosperity of parents house
Idk if you’re talking about that but the Kalire ceremony is actually the one which is like the bride throwing the bouquet
It's not synonymous though
The analogy is absolutely wrong.
@@SL-ri4lu kalire ceremony is not done by everyone . Mostly by Punjabis

Yes

@@Sha_shasa lol... You make kheer of the rice covered with turmeric and kumkum... That's news to me.
We use plain rice, & yes it is used for cooking kheer later.
In Hindu weddings the rice is never wasted. Rice is not just for humans. The rice that we throw is always fed to animals and birds later.
