The four pro lads passing by is such a cool shot.
The pro's flew past but you did a great job of keeping them in sight for much longer than I thought you could. Great riding, Chris and very informative, thanks 👍
The skill range at this event looks absolutely insane. Everyone from beginners to Toprak on the track at the same time 😳I'm surprised this is ok...
I doubt they'll be out on track at the same time? If they are then yeah that's a recipe for disaster!
No there were 3 classes
It's Italy... *shrugs*
health and safety is v different in Italy, went carting there recently. only a helmet (without visor) as gear, the 'safety briefing' was two sentences while i was already sat in the cart (in italian, even though i understand, not everyone would, and they didnt care). :D nothing like the UK were you have to watch a 5 min video and then be in full overalls and gloves.
The difference in their two speeds alone is asking for trouble! This track is too fast to mix everyone together!
That bike sounds absolutely amazing, and to see those boys drifting was awesome 😮
Watching them in front of me would have been a huge distraction and I would have ran off track from drooling
@@Vforfreedom 😄
I just replayed that moment multiple times. Absolute beaty.
@@clawbass888 same, awesome wasn’t it 😄👍🏻
@@clawbass888 same! 😂
Awesome work! For the last two years i have driven out to Italy and stay about 10 mins from the circuit and do a few days with the local TD guys.
If anyone knows the circuit and lap times then they should know a sub 2:10 is good at Miugello. A 2:03 is an incredibly fast and Sub 2 mins you puts you probably in very competitive position in Super stock. Chris's circuit craft has to be highly commended for than the bike build i feel :) I'd be happy with a consistent sub 2:10! Thanks for the video, i will be using this as a reference!
Thank you very much! This is the information I was looking for.
What an awesome experience to be on track with world class riders. It’s awesome watching you guys develop this bike! Great stuff.
Crazy how Toprak just comes sliding into the corner sideways fully under control. Just world class riding honestly doesn’t get any better than that in terms of skill
The big takeaway for 90% of trackday riders should be that you can make a huge improvement to your suspension by just "ballparking" it, which is basically what the pros did for that first session. Dave Moss has a series of videos about it, and how you can ballpark your own suspension settings and learn what they all do, before paying professionals like him for their time, so you get more out of their time.
What I do is set front fork 35mm sag and rear shock 30mm sag as a baseline using preload adjuster I add a zip tie to fork tube to see weather I’m using all of the travel during braking and then adjust the rebound and compression to mid point then I make adjustment from there as the day progress most of the time after 3 session I have it dialed to where I’m comfortable mostly I run very similar rebound and compression to stock just preload to weight and sag
Thank you Chris. Just reflecting on your first few track rides and how confident you have become. We viewers appreciate the path you have negotiated , through it all and hope life treats you well. Great effort , say hey to the boys, looking forward to more .
Respect
Pawlak
Did you ever think when you started vlogging your commute that you would be on track at Mugello with a World Champion?
Amazing experience- if somewhat terrifying! 👍
I remember when he used to whinge his way to work through London….this looks like a lot more fun eh 😃
This is the most enjoyable video that I have seen 44 teeth produce. Thank you so much.
I agree, really fucking good.
Dang that half hour went by quicker than my last 30 minute massage with Amber down at the ole rub-n-tug. Great stuff boys! *as per usual.
Oh I remember being at Mugello in '95. Mick's pole 1:55.5555555, or sompfing like that. I commentator went overboard with the fives. Shows the skill back in the day.
Great video thanks Chris! The explanation of how you ran on really helps, and it's comforting to see that even guys like you make mistakes sometimes
fucking amazing you can share trackdays with those guys, dream come true for a biker
On track with legendary top riders. That’s quite something, thank you for this video!
Seeing the professionals display their talents must be quite the humbling experience! 😮 Impressive to say the least! 👌
I had same problem 4 weeks ago in misano until i found out that you can't run the r1 on the stand my engine light came on because of that.
thank god someone was there who could clear the error for me,he cleared the error with a plug.
great video and your lap time is also very good 👌👍
Some high quality content you put out. Thanks for sharing and its fun to see you get support sorting issues out. Yamaha put together a very nice event.
I do all my mates set ups, surprising how even basic sag adjustments increase riding enjoyment and confidence.
@8:55 wow once in the life time, happy for you Chris
also, the Ohlins guys are exactly how I would imagine Ohlins guys
Well done Chris. Nice to be mixing it with the top order.
I’ve followed BVG for about 10 years watching him do a track day on his SRAD as I had the same bike and he was fast as hell then, to see him at this sort of event and keeping up at times with the top riders on Earth is a pleasure to watch. Living the dream. Great to see and his dry British humour always makes me laugh 😅
Worth investing in a bit of diagnostic software. I use GS-911 that you can use across the Beemer range to diagnose and clear faults.
You guys should look into the Forcite helmets, they're the only ones to have integrated cameras in the chin guard of their helmets, and they're ECE 2206 homologated. Quite stealthy. Might let you get some footage out!
That tank extender is a ting of beauty. ALL sports bikes should have a flat-top tank.
Also, please put the mirrors and numberplate back on for your next event.
🤣
Love these track day videos, keep them coming. Wanna see both the boys on track 👍
Been waiting for this shakedown for yonks... Nice one lads.😊
Awesome update video. I bet you those Ohlins guys have never had a visual description of what the suspension was doing like the way you described it!!! Classic!!!🤣🤣🤣
Can’t wait for the day 2 video!
Its hard work, give you more respect for guys like James - how they can do this for a career for 40 years,
The last session before lunch on day 1, where Baron is explaining the pogo effect, and how the bike is very unstable, The suspension Setup, and then his explination of how planted and under control the bike is; should be required viewing for all motorcycle owners lol. "Setup is Everything" Amen to that.
Great to watch you for all these years I used to watch bvg Motovlogs into London. And the sport bike down the fire lane. Great content
8:57 Wow a moment to remember for a while
Chris if only I could do a lap of mugello like that I'd be happy. Great to see. 😊
Damn that looks like fun, to share a track with the real deal riders must have been awesome, would have made my year.
Brilliant to see these top riders on track
At least you know where you need to be for world level racing, a complete loonatic
That is unreal how fast those dudes are 😅😬😁 great riding, Chris 🤙🏻
Perfect timing, was just looking for an update video on progress
At 12.48 was that Wilco helping you out, used to work in his home town just under Rotterdam and met a few times, super nice bloke
£10 off with BeMoto!? That's generous of them lol. Insurance companies are a joke these days!
The engine light happened to me on a track day, really frustrating. Yamaha dealer said it detected I'd leaned the bike too low. So then it locks the modes (like you mentioned). Then you got to take it to a dealer and pay to reset the errors. Pathetic.
When the on board footage came up I thought it was a game as it was so smooth!!
I’m sure I’m late to the party but I’ve successfully cleared engine codes on my 2023 MT-10 using a regular OBD2 scanner and a Yamaha adapter I got off Amazon. Great video, it was amazing seeing Toprak drift past you like that!
I absolutely love seeing so much of the engine in your "click-bait" picture.
Thats how I want my Superbike (1996 cbr600f3-t) to look. After Ive fitted the much higher VFR750 handlebars. ( im a little older now, so my wrists could snap under heavy braking. LOL, imagine that🤪.
Oh yeah, P.S. i havnt watched the video yet. Im saving it for the weekend.
I like to have a little binge, then a ride out.
Reminds me of the early eighties as a 22 year old, sitting on the floor next to me Dads house, with the rocker covers off on me 1970 Honda 750, adjusting the screw and locknut tappets. Trying to get it faster!!
Great days.
Sundays spent going around the outside of my mates on their X7's, RD250's, LC250, CB250rs.
That old bus, that old 750. It had so much torque, and such a wide engine, I could out-corner ANYTHING.
But at 101mph it had a VICIOUS tankslapper. But just grip it and rode through it to 120-125.
No problems.
Cos no- one is passing you in the bends.
15:05…. “Oh, for fucks sake”…..😂😂 probably not what he said. But it sounds like something I’d say when I dropped a helmet or something expensive haha.
Chris, “Not a lot of rebound compression”.
The Öhlins guys, “🤔”
The hardest Part for suspending guys must be to understand what the riders are yapping about.. 😂
nicely done Chris, those pro boys dont half carry some speed! keep up the great content, great editing too! chao chao chao
To set the static sag properly, shouldn't you have been wearing all your bike gear, as that can easily add another 7/8 Kilos?
Or, weren't you that bothered? Or, was it just too darn hot 😂
6:04 running the bike on track without mirrors and getting passed like that would scare the fuck out of me
The scary thing is, I doubt Toprak was even at 5 tenths!
Best racetrack in the world? I've never ridden it but what I have seen so far, HELL YES!
***Hi Chris,***
Taking the mirrors off mightn’t give you half a second on your lap time but getting rid of the ridiculously large UK number plate will probably give you a full second 🤣.
Great video, really interesting, informative and entertaining 👍🏍️🎥📺.
Watching the pro fly past was amazing.
Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺.
Surely you’re ready for the Beamer 900 cup with Statham and Boothy now…. Awesome tech, love the details and how you’ve come on from the sports cock London commute banter ✊🏍💨
I’ve got a 22 R1 and after doing the EXUP eliminator plug-in thing and smog block off I get these engine lights as well. Seems to be related to the smog block off portion. I use a OBD-2 scanner here in the US and it clears the codes…
Did also a trackday with sbk legends ...its amazing how fast they are
You could consider buying a Texa IDC5 diagnostic system for this and all your other bikes. I'm in Australia but bought mine from Probike in the UK. This is a shop level diagnostic system but covers nearly all makes and models
Molto bene, lads. I hope to get around Mugello on an S1000RR next year, but I'd rather that R1.
If your working out all the pre-old etc should you be in all your kit? Or does it not make that much difference?
I was playing with an R1M at the weekend.... Im buying one. Beautiful from every angle
Interesting that static sag measurements were taken with your feet on the ground - we were taught that static measurements have to be done with feet on footpegs so that the riders full weight is on the suspension. How did they compensate for the weight transfer through your feet?
@@Chambers36TheEnter I suppose because it is just the "static" measurements - even though they are inaccurate because of less weight being on the bike (due to feet on ground and not wearing full gear) that is taken care of after the first session out on the bike - but still, it is puzzling that Ohlins guys do the static measurements the way we were taught NOT to do it
Ohlins techs should have done it with gear on and feet on peg. For the 1st session. Very surprised to see how they didn’t much care about the specifics, of a initial basic setup. Accuracy at the start is key. Maybe they know Chris is not worth the effort 😝
@@drdesmo8489 OUCH!!!! 🤣
I watched that lap on my phone tilting it into the corners like some sort of gyro cam. Puts into perspective for none bike riders like me the crazy amount on lean angle!! My question to you is, do you get your shoulder down? 😉
You so lucky to ride such a bike on that track , cheers man.👍
Seeing Toprak and Co. flying through the track was sublime. Fantastic video, and I loved the bike development aspect of your R1 too Baron! Keep it up!
Epic content, but a couple of things that probably may have been sorted before your day at the beautiful Mugello. Front master cylinder & a dyno/tune before you removed the entire exhaust system and fitted a completely different one? Iv still got 5 mins of video to watch now….
I absolutely love the series. The bike looks awesome. I'm curious, though. As a viewer of the channel. What is better to help support the channel . Is it better to let the ads playout. Or is it the same if I skip them? Great job. Thanks.
Great video, nice work with the onboards at such a strict circuit.
Will you be heading back to Almería anytime soon for a comparison to the stock setup?
Thanks Chris! Really enjoying your adventure with the new R1 and the day at Mugello. :) Headed to track in Northern California tomorrow to ride with wife and friends. Watching this just pumped me up just a bit further! DT
Great watch. Thanks.
Anyone else can see Ian Foot from "come fly with me"???😂
Idk if you can clear the codes, but I think you should be able to at least check them with any old OBD2 scanner tool plus a converter cable to go from standard OBD connector to Yamaha’s connector.
Nice look and suspension. I was hoping to see some performance enhancements with the E10,000.
I did the YRE at Silverstone when I bought my 2016 R1-M, I also did Mugello later in that year (I had been before) I've done Mugello 4 times now and its by far my favourite track.
I really enjoyed all that, with the sole exception of imagery of your abominable leathers!
Thank you!! I have a raven just like this, well with less mods. But what an excellent machine! How do you support your channel? I love the content!
What a great place to test out the new mods, lots of helpful dudes and a few...talented blokes to learn some lines from. Muy belissimo!
The fact you pointed out that the fork said rebound on the top cap to the Ohlins tech. Explains a lot about you. Imho.
We have to point these things out for the viewers such as yourself 👍
@@FortyFourTeeth your reply also says a lot. You're funny. 😁
so happy to see you got to ride with those legends. good job on the bike
It was 113 outside last Friday rode 6 30 min sessions can't wait for cooler weather
Underslung rear caliper kit 👌👍
Number plate should always be left on..especially impressive to others when you’re dragging your elbows whilst going around the outside..!!! Also good excuse when you bin it..!!!
Not to shabby laptimes and defo best circuit on the planet - managed a 2:11 on my R1 👍🏻
Motorland ,PhilipIsland,Suzuka,,,,,,,,
It is nice but PI is the go to.
Incredible experience having those boys come drifting past
Now imagine a full on 3 day WSBK, BSB test. 3 laps, change, measure, 3 laps, change measure... All day everyday
@44Teeth what sunnies are you sporting there please ?
Top content as usual
ttteeeennnn 🤯 , posh-boys ... and does hollywood calling ? RST , a yamaha in new , helmets , tire covers , wheel's ...plus other race stallion work's
you are youtube-stars
Looks absolutely epic mate, and to share the track with toprak, loca and canepa, once in a lifetime!
23:37, i do love what you do and you are quick but fuck me those 2 are unreal. Toprak especially, the way he enters Buccine, jesus christ.
I do love the sound of a CP4 on full chat!
Need more vids guys ❤
An ecu flash on that perhaps.....
I dont understand setting sag without the weight of riding gear? Pretty sure my kit is around 20llbs added to my 170# weight ...that does not matter setting sag?
Brilliant video
a great bike just keeps getting better and some lovely quick company on the track too 🙂
190 nm for the rear axle nut 😮, I only torque mine to 90 , that’s tight enough for me
Love the video! Hope to see more of stuff like this in the future!
Another max effort vid from 44 teeth, max content, top watch. Thanks for taking us on the journey.
was there in April ad did a 2:06 with my stock Aprilia Tuono.
Love that circuit and the ride with those guys must have been a dream! :) Thanks for that video!
wow, a 2:06 on stock road tyres on that is very good!
@@FortyFourTeeth wow thanks for the feedback 😃 Ok well it was not completely stock then . It was on Bridgestone Slicks I have to admit... Rest is stock though. 😄Cheers and lots of love from Switzerland
You guys goofed on setting up the sag, you are supposed to be fully dressed in your gear and helmet on, my stuff weighs almost 20 lbs. Other than that its pretty sick! Hey where is the other funny, you guys are like Laurel & Hardy of motos😅
Very cool & interesting vid. Looks & sounds amazing. Great job Chris!
