I've been impressed with Paul's dry wit and professionalism ever since John Hopkins' debut in the GP's. Obviously loves what he does and good at it. The paddock is richer with him in it. The stories the guy must have after two decades plus going motorbike racing...
I used to be a big Honda and Kawi fan, that was until I rode my first crossplane crank R1. After that I fell in love with the torque curve and of course the deep sound, especially with my Grave's exhaust 😍

As a simple Honda Hornet "guy".... easy now! Don't bash me!.... this is very informative. I'm allowed to scrut the TT bikes and you have opened my eyes a little. Knowing some of these special parts isn't part of our pervue, but having a better understanding is very helpful. This short interview is well worth the effort.

The LE GYTR R1 is a work of art and Hamilton’s exposed carbon fibre Superbike spec R1 is drop dead gorgeous.

Listening to Paul talk about the disaster of changing the rear wheel on a stock R1 made me feel slightly less of a moron when I struggled with mine the other day after fitting a pair of new Q5 😅

Yamaha Crossplane engine demystified: Get two 270° parallel twin engines displacing 499cc each, and join them together, with the two middle pistons 180° apart. That's the R1 crankshaft.
Talking about changing tires.. Reminds me of watching some early 90's WERA racing..and those pit guys are literally legends. They had one guy for each tire..they pulled that thing apart with stock axles and spacers on a 1995 GSX-R 1100.. had wet tires on it within like 30 seconds axles torqued down..bike push started and he was off to win.. Absolutely insane the level of skill they had. We have definitely lost that kinda skill today.

Skill can give you even more time saving. When I started racing lifting my toes shaved 1.5 seconds of my time at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit. Saved a new pair of boots every few meetings to. !! Thanks for the great video, now how do I find £150k !!!

Just a quick tip, them orange ear plugs are crap, Get the yellow 3m ones, also sold and branded Oxford, As used buy Mr VR46. That little bike sounds great.
Just FYI, Aprilia offered the FW GP and FW SBK back in 2016/2017 that was a world superbike spec.
That 40k bike seems a relative bargain!

limited edition bike is missing rear caliper, dashboard and many more from the wsbk bike.
For some of us, this is the closest we'll ever get to holy grail bikes like those 😮
