Just a few months younger than me. His passing hits a little bit harder. What a gentle speaking voice. An amazing artistic ability to write songs that will forever affect us all. His voice is wonderful like his speaking voice. Rest in peace, my fellow 1957 born mate. You are just the best and I'll always treasure your musical gifts.

What a lovely man with so much talent. He was my age and I heard about his passing and it made me feel how can that be? He's so young and vibrant and talented. Knock, knock. Time has passed and I need to wake up. Whenever I need to delve back into those wonderful times, I put a World Party album on. Rest In Peace, beautiful man. Thank you for making our world shine.

Karl had such a beautiful cheerysmile 😁 gentil speaking voice and vocals we could sing a long with ,his lyrics were heart felt and had true meaning still to this day. It is a shame such a talent has left us so young ❤ God bless him and all whose hearts were touched by him too 🙏🏼One love🌟💞🕊

Seems like Karl was a lovely fellow. We are fortunate to have his music. I’m happy to have discovered World Party and the Waterboys some time ago. RIP Karl….

So sad to hear the news he's died. I've listened to his music for many years and thought what a clever guy he is. A great songwriter. Thanks Karl.

This man wrote Ship of Fools, Is it Like Today ...and Ill have fun seeing what else he did.
Thise two songs alone put him up with the greats...best lyrics Ive heard from one of our generation.

I saw the Waterboys supporting U2 at B'ham NEC. The Waterboys blew U2 off the stage. Got to see Karl in World Party too. I don't think the Waterboys were as good without Karl.

Been thinking a lot about how I never got to see Karl live, and would listen sporadically to his great music, then move on to something else for quite a while. "Is It Like Today" is my favourite of his songs, but they're all good. He was so literate, quite funny and a deep thinker. Now he's gone and I'm left contemplating how fleeting life is. 1993 was a hell of a year for music, and for me. RIP Karl. ❤

😢I did not know of Karl's passing living in SA and so soon after Steve Harley, they are all leaving us far too soon.
Saw World Party in 1990 with Sinead O’Conner backing, fabulous concert, great songwriter and lyricist, the party to save the world must continue.

This video-cheeky AF! 😅 The woman giving the blasé Karl a manicure seems to be there just for Karl’s personal amusement. I can’t believe this gent would have manicures! Cheeky moment, no?! He must have been laughing himself silly when he came up with this idea. Love it 😂
    Cut!

Where is Karl Wallinger these days? Is he permanently retired at his seaside home? To me "Is It Like Today" is one of the greatest songs ever written.

Smoking often has fuck all to do with your moment of death . It is more often just a spin of the wheel.
