Doug pinnick from King's X is an amazing bass player and vocalist. The song "cigarettes" is my favorite. The guitar player Ty Tabor has one of the best tones in rock. Plus there are three man band which makes it more impressive.
I think Geddy takes the number 1 spot here, he´s playing bass while singing and also playing synthesizers with his feet. incredibly talented. RUSH the greatest three man Band ever.

I think Geddy is amazing but his voice is the big let down , esp on tracks like Red Barchetta .... even on Tom Sawyer and Lime Light it has a certain screech . Greg Lake should have made the list, Chris Squire similarly. The fact Waters made it in, a man who can barely play his instrument, can't tune it and certainly can't sing very well made it in is truly baffling.
Glad to see Phil Lynott from Thin Lizzy. I think he should have been higher ranked. Listen to some of Lizzy's early material when they were a three piece band.

No argument that he was an excellent singer. I think the issue is that not many will put him in the top 10 bassists. It's not that he was bad at it. It's just that Chicago's music didn't really require a stand out bassist.

I think his landing at 7 is well balanced because other than McCartney he can outsing those above him (unless you like the grogginess of Lemmy like I do) but the guys above him outplay him on the bass (at least in the majority of their songs).
Claypool at 9 is pretty crazy. Sure he isnt the greatest singer but my guy is putting out some absurd bass lines while singing.
