It's horribly sad that Roblox and alexnewtron allowed the game to fall as far as it did for so many years. Absolutely insane that probably the majority people used to defend MeepCity and alexnewtron for the 5 years it was a mess up until it got banned.

I litteraly saw nobody get upset over the removal of parties asides confused kids, creeps and trolls. It was genuinely a subpar feature that was abused to no end because alex couldn't do the least of banning the major offenders.
I would blame both Alex and Roblox themselves. I mean Alex watching NSFW as an ADULT isn't that bad, but he got so desensitized that he doesn't give a shit about those creepy bypassed parties, and only started removing them when the game has already been rotten. And Roblox themselves? They only ban meepcity after it literally GOT ON THE NEWS

I haven't thought about Meepcity in years and didn't know about all this incidents, since my experience with meepcity was a bunch of actually innocent rp parties like "Military base camp", "Transformers headquarters", "Guest vs Bacon War" and made a ton of good friends I've been able to meet and hangout in person. I've been stuck on the wrong side of the world, and I'm thankful
I used to open a restaurant using parties, it was so fun… I liked hiring people to be employees and I made friends there…
i remember playing meepcity with my friends when i was 7 or 8.
i never even looked at the parties menu or knew they existed until i was watching stuff about it, and i am so glad i didnt know.

I used to go to meepcity parties when I was around that age and Jesus Christ I got traumatized, to the point I stopped playing meepcity
I'm currently about to turn 20 this year, and I'm sick and tired of people allowing minors into spaces they shouldn't be allowed in. Or worse, exposing them to that content when they shouldn't. That can really damage a child mentally and even have them develop an unhealthy addiction to sexual content. I'm not mentioning this as an outsider but as someone who had that happen to me when I was a minor. I'm still dealing with the damages being exposed to sexual content at a young age, even after all these years.

One time when I was in Meepcity, a guy sent a friend request. I thought it would be a random person friending me. But he texted me in the in-game friend chat and asked if I wanted to share pics. I asked "What pics?" and he said "U know what pics im talking abt" I unfriended him immediatly, reported him and blocked him. Im still traumatised till this day. Stay safe :)

Extremely late comment, but I seriously feel bad for those kids who were exposed to such erotic and disturbing content at such a young age. Online daters have existed for a long time in Roblox, but they're now in their "slenders" or "CNPs" form. My blame goes to Alex for being desensitized about NSFW content and neglecting his own game, and Roblox themselves for not caring about their platform that is full of children. Alex has to be one of the worst Roblox developers in Roblox history
Moral of the story is, you can watch NSFW as a developer, as long as you're an ADULT. But don't be so desensitized about NSFW sh1t that you don't give a crap about your game being an erotic hellhole

Yes, there are games on Roblox that are indeed safe for children to play but there are ones that are not with gore, blood, and everything that isn't child friendly and there's players that are children/minors who act sexually to each other and wear sexual clothing in social-type games. My little 14 year old cousin likes to play these role play games and almost every one of them I watch her play and see half naked to fully naked avatars scoot across the screen and even run up to her humping her avatar and saying they "want to pound her" and the ones that have voice chat are the worse cause you can hear kids saying the most inappropriate things from moaning to saying they're "going to rape you" and swearing and playing disgusting porn audio and explicit music... now my cousin doesn't like playing it anymore cause she says "there's too much NSFW things on this so called kids game" and just wants to play and have fun... it's unbelievable and Roblox doesn't care at all and they plan to make it more like this in the future so it can attract an adult audience... imagine that.

as sombody who plays meepcity, things have acutely been getting better. However there is still a ton of toxic rogansters but 1/3 of ppl that play meepcity now arent that toxic. I mean its hard to tell since everybody dresses emo, but there is non toxic players. I still wish rogansters didn't invade meepcity though

CNP stands for copy and paste. There are games with avatar ideas and stuff and cnps copy the examples. Rogansters are ppl who make their avatars look like gansters and on meeepcity, there is a ton of avatar items they use to look like gansters. You can mostly find rogasters at the pizza minigame and cnps in the cafe or hospital. The school is just emos but not cnp
the thing is is that the cnps and rogansters are toxic. one of them started bulling me because I had a 0 robux avatar outside of meepcity and that my display name was unfunny (it was "meme52") so thats why I play the game less than I did before

I remember playing meepcity when I was 8-9 i'm 13 turning 14 soon now, I remember being exposed to so many nsfw things. I started to like nsfw stuff at such a young age because of that game, that game really ruined me as a whole as child. Luckily I don't like that type of stuff now

I played meep city as a kid and I really liked playing this with my friends. I hated what happened. I just used partys to play with my friends. why the hell didn’t he get moderators. There was this really cool guy that made normal parties he figured out how to make his house bigger. He was a green alien he made his house a theme park.

Well Roblox online daters have already existed for a long time. To be fair, not all slenders/CNPs are bad, it's just a modern Roblox avatar trend. It's those online daters and toxic players who say "mic up kid" all the time made them LOOK bad

As a younger sister, I feel bad for the 13 year old brother. I used to be on Meepcity a whole bunch, but then it went downhill after I couldn't find many fun parties. (I was a FNAF fanatic, and I only looked for RP FNAF parties.) All I found were, sadly, i only found.. those.. parties. I hope the reputation of this game gets ruined a lot when people find the truth.
I just wanted to mention that apples to apples is a real card game that you can play, and was not inspired by cards against humanity and was just taken in it's entirety and put into roblox.
Everybody forgets about when parties updated and you could change the name of your party (So it was not your username) It was quickly taken down too.

My sister is seven, I’m eleven, she was playing these sorts of games and at one point was in a furry role-play game with very sexual individuals and satanic imagery.
I have and had growing concerns considering I myself was exposed to this kind of content a much younger age, this is horrifying. Alexnewtron is a disgusting individual.

Easy Solution:
Remove Avatar Editor
So theres this random feature where you edit your avatar ands its poorly moderated too,as you see most slenders/CNPS there are actually Poor People,once you click them,
So two solutions:
Bring a Moderation Team For Avatar Editor (maybe impossible considering the owner is alewneutron)
Or simply remove them.
I don’t think removing it entirely is gonna do anything.
Not all slenders are CNPs are bad, it's the online daters that make them LOOK bad. My solution? Just hire a moderation team to ban those bypassed clothing, it's not that hard 💀

Meepcity went from a game where you get meeps and play happily to a game where people go bang in their goofy ahh pollution and vape filled air party with lots of nekked people there.
I got an ad for donating to kids who were kidnapped in the Hamas-Israeli war, which was actually really damn sad.
Then apparently there were 2 sponsors so I get an Adopt Me toy ad or some crazy crap.
When I was younger my online friends forced me to play it all day long for months that rly affected my life and it still haunts me.

The fact that I used to play meepcity and NEVER knew about how bad this entire thing was terrifies me, as Grateful I am for not being exposed to these predators I still feel heavy in my stomach how while I was fishing and decorating my house this entire thing was going on, I never had an interest in joining parties in Meepcity and neither did my brother and our cousins. When I was 9 I did encounter an ODer but that was in Adopt me and on accident, and I don't feel comfortable talking about this topic furthermore. I never used twitter and still havent even considered it along with other social media platforms which are basically addictive to kids my age, but the fact that Alex and many others like him are on these kinds if platforms makes me concerned, I'm so glad I told my siblings that there wasn't any point in joining parties on that game even when I myself never joined one. God, help this society.

I feel like it’s a mixture of both hm being greedy and him wanting his weird creepy desires to continue unfolding. You have to pay, iirc, 400 robux for Plus, which was a requirement to host ANY party, on top of an extra 300 if you want custom music in your parties, which supports evidence of him being greedy and allowing all the parties. However, there’s also his degenerate behavior, which supports evidence of him wanting the party situation to unfold for his creepy desires. I feel it’s 50% of both, honestly.
When I was little I played meepcity and then someone named tubers93 I think that’s their name joined it and they said sus things and they made my whole screen glitch . A year later I joined and people where doing dirty stuff

i was a fnaf and sonic fanboy and used this to get avators of characters i like but after using youtube to see what youtubers do on meepcity it seems like what i thought of a fun game to roleplay in was a twisted nightmare full of nsfw and toxic people and finding out the owner of it was like that bad side really took me alot it was one of my favs so seeing it turn out to be a terriable gaming community just took a total on my younger self i game i met most of my friends on is now turned into a place where since partys were removed just leftovers what over came out from partys so sad to see once a good game go down like all other rp and dress up games toxic and nsfw people will come and the fact that most of them were probably just little kids following others some people may not read this seeing i am just yapping but people should realize that most of our fav games are the ones that turn out rotten now that i am done yapping enjoy whatever time you have left on the planet some people dont have long to live
It is so sad that Meep City became a game for online daters and NSFW content. Back in 2017/ 2018 when I used to play it. I remember it being peaceful and people just walked around in the game and either made their house, or delivered pizza, or customise their meep. I hate the downfall of it so much, now a year ago in 2023 I joined it and it was filled with online daters, NSFW content, inappropriate avatars, and etc. Alex removed parties because of people making NSFW content there or, it just being a mess with Roblox avatars dressed in inappropriate clothing, or the people in the parties meeting and talking through discord, and that leading to minors getting gr00med. I hate to say this, but this is so true and sad that meep city just turned to a really inappropriate game. I have no idea how it became the way it is now...

It's really sad to see this game go. Back in the day, when I was around 6-7 years old, I would always play this ROBLOX game. Either with my bigger sister, or sometimes with my sister and my real life friends. Pretty much after this happened, I just had no choice but to move on to different ROBLOX games, my sister eventually quit roblox I think not that long later. I mostly feel alone every time I play ROBLOX nowadays without my sister.

I think you're confused about the 6 seconds of audio thing. It's not a 6 second limit on audio, it used to cost tons of robux to upload audio, and after copyright issues roblox made all audio over 6 seconds unusable in any games not owned by the uploader of the audio, and now you can upload audio for free but only 10 per month (unless you sell them your ID...)
I went to those parties to ruin them lol, That was so so much fun joking with my friends just ruining that gross atmosphere. ODers suck man.
There is emo’s and ganstga’s all over meepcity some of them are weird inappropriate jokes especially in the school, in the houses and etc. Some of them are normal and chill and some are just toxic and hate emo’s that aren’t even weird or toxic. 😢
