Alex, it might mean absolutely nothing to you but I now own a v2 GC8 WRX (x3), Blobeye WRX, Hawkeye WRX, a 2009 STi Hatch and it’s all thanks to you. You inspired me to learn the often painstaking process of building a Subaru and how rewarding it can be when it all comes together. Thank you for making Subaru content again! Greetings from Lusaka, Zambia!
For coilovers. Cygnus performance. They are custom valve specs by Geoff Cygnus who is the owner and has quite a bit of Subaru experience himself. He can valve them for comfort or Motorsports use. And they are made by fortune auto (he partners with them). They are rebuildable, and you can go up to 2 way if you’d like. Or with simple 500/510s that Cygnus does the valving/springs to your specs. I have the x1 Motorsports version, valves for track use, and the stiffest springs I have used (third set of coils). And they still ride better than my previous sets. I can’t say enough good (running these on an 06 STi).
100% recommend Cygnus X-1's with hyperco or swift springs and motorsport valving. I've had so many coilovers over 20 years, and these on my GR STi have been some of the best coilovers I've ever had.
Definitely love my fortune auto 500 series. been on my car a little over 4 years now and i love the way they ride. they have radial bearing and rotating perches for the springs. 8k front 6k rear springs.
FA500s are absolutely fantastic I love mine, just be prepared if in a warm climate to buy some waterproof grease for them a few months in if a mediumish squeak will annoy you.
Fortune Auto can set you up with air cups, swift springs and aluminum damper bodies if you want to splurge or live in an are where snow/salt are an issue or you want to save weight.
Definitely recommend Cygnus X-1 coilovers. And for a street/comfort set of seats, the Recaro SR-7's are great! Reclineable, perfect bolstering, not too expensive, comfortable.
Alas, after years of following your builds and trials and errors I gotta give respect where its deserved. Thanks for showing the real process, I watched other channels and they became repetitive. Please tell us what coil overs you decide to drop in, I heard the KW is cherry and I was on Buddy Clubs so Im thinking about going KW.
I know you’re pleased with your brembo set up but fitting Alcons was the best modification I had done together with having professional set up my geometry
Bro powder coating brembos might not give direct performance gain. But it is performance protection which helps those brembos rust and corrosion free perform same long period of time. 👍
The only things a suby needs is reliability and stronger guts mods to help with maintaining the original factory settings as they are perfect and extremely underrated, they are subys nuff said
Shockworks is definitely the king when it comes to coilovers they custom build them to suit you and what you’ll do with the car and I’ve never heard of anyone not being happy with a set, anyone who owns a set swears by them 👌🏻
Take a car that was engineered to drive off-road and winter conditions. Then, modify it so that it can not drive in off-road and winter conditions as it was designed to do.....brilliant.
I WOULD ADD STRAIGHT CUT GEARS! Gear 1-4 straight cut. My STI is stock other than a Remark R1 catback. I really want to put straight cut gears in mine though, you should too
Im fairly new to the wrx platform and have always loved cars, but I was never the guy who did my own modifications, but now I'm learning and I'm going to teach my kids what I learn along the way. I bought a satin white pearl 07 STi back in 2021, and so far, the only thing engine modification wise that I did was an IAG aos that I installed back in April of this year. I wanted to do more engine wise, but I found out that the guy I bought the car from was shady, so the car needs a tune and I don't live any where close to a tune shop, it needs some coilovers because it has lowering springs and it's a little to bumpy for me. I found out that the advans that are on it are bent, so I also have to get new wheels and tires. There are so many things to fix, but with that said, I love my Hawkeye. What I have taken out of this situation is that people are out for them selfs and to question everything. Sorry for the book.
Are the OG flares going to be for sale? If so, how much? I may be interested. I was left heavily disappointed with the new Karlton Flares but I’ve heard good things with the OGs.
While I agree the 6 speed swap is well worth it, I don’t get why I see so many WRX’s with the swap. I know these days you have to work with what you got but the cost of the swap vs the cost of just buying an STI was always a head scratcher to me. My 04 FXT is 6 speed swapped but there’s no way around that, it never was an option with the 6 speed.
@@BadJo0Jo0 it all came off of a totaled 2012 except for the steering rack which is 15. The cost of the swap has gotten ridiculous and this one was done for really cheap.
How many clicks do you have on your damper? I’m running the 500s on my 02 wrx. My car keeps bobbing up and down when driving on the freeway. Feels like im sitting on a trampoline while everyone else is jumping around me.
Devils advocate here, but oftentimes the ones that pop are the ones that are beat on, poorly maintained, poorly modded. Subarus might be more sensitive than say, a civic, but they aren't bad vehicles by far. I've had a few and all were reasonably good experiences, included my full bolt on and tuned stage 2+ wrx. But again, I maintained and didn't beat on it. Wouldn't mind trying an Evo someday though.
@@Dr.Ticklebum69I beat on my 2020 stage 1+ for 26k miles a lot in the mountains on gravel and sand and mud. Car never skipped a beat. Kept up maintenance and always kept an eye on fluids. Never burned oil or anything. It wasn’t until I got tuned by ambot that I fully enjoyed the car. But I ended up trading it for a 23 wrx premium. Put a wing on it and my 20mm spacers, already tinted the windows. Had to replace my tires which sucked ass because the new dunlops on these cars are amazing and look pretty sick. But I’d rather have traction in the snow and ice xD so far this car is what I wanted my 2020 wrx to be, a fun easy car.
I would never modify my Subaru anything like yours so no worry there. No stupid Canards, flares, duck tail spoiler the list goes on. You fucked it up in my opinion. Voltex yuck.

Def spend the money on RCE coils, they’re built with KW in Germany.
You can get fortune auto coil over, they make both street and track oriented coils. I have those on my 2016 sti

One of the things you mentioned for like less than 30 seconds was a FULL STI swap! Just buy an sti😂

Been subscribed or have been watching this Chanel for the longest. I think I was like 13-14 at the time. I’m 22 now

Biggest mistake on my 07 wrx was lightweight flywheel. Got so much gear rattle which made the trans sound like broken glass

Fortune auto my try riding in a car with them there pretty good an you get custom spring rates feel like your heading in that direction with the build
Giving the Subaru love again! Sweet
You need to look at Fortune Auto's air cup system
