I found Big Country close to 3 years ago, and this is the only band that has changed me some how. This album just touched my spirit & it’s something I run to when I just need to find myself again.
This is one of there least popular albums, I bought it when it first came out and because of where I was in my life at that time and the bitter sweet memories it holds, this is probably my favourite album full stop! It takes me somewhere nothing else can!
The anger that a simple thumbs down can provoke! Who on earth listens to big country and then this song and thinks “no not for me I think il give it a thumbs down”
Definitely, I've been missing having the late 90s content on Spotify so I have to keep alternating between that and old CDs ripped to iTunes and the likes. :)
Seen a German group play a real heavy version of this in a Biker Bar in Berlin about 20 Years ago. They said afterwards it was a Big Country Song and I didn't believe it. eclectic comes to mind
...Although, technically...this song has a near "perfect" arrangement...what I always love...the main lead...the single "bent" note...this is the passion, correctness...the marvel of the one and only "Stu"...Love you, Stu...BC...JS
This song has strong radio appeal. its too bad the album this song was from didnt chart on both sides of the atlantic...because of packaging materials. what bullshit!!!!
You'll never find a better singer THE GREAT MR ADAMS

@@david1519 After Steeltown this is their best. Q magazine at the time said there is still life in the old dogs.
Good on ya. Been part of me since 84.
My favorite off this hidden masterpiece of an album. SA was a generational talent and I sorely miss him.
