When I fell in love with this band I didn't think they'd be able to pull off this kind of emotional songs, they kinda approached it with ear vulgaris but when like clockwork came out and I heard this one and i appear missing and like clockwork itself.......my heart blew the fuck up. I still haven't recovered. Thank you qotsa

it's probably one of those pianos that can loop a sequence of notes and can be switched on or off. Some pianos can do this.
He is playing the piano, but there's only one camera filming the close ups, so the filmmakers cut a GV of Josh's hands playing over a different section of song, to provide a number of greater number of shots and angles.
Lol 6 years late but I can promise you that he was, I was sitting right in front of him, no loops or any computer bullshit, it was all him from the beginning. The synch is off a few times in every video from that night.
Just like @dustitup6669 said, it was probably an editing royalty taken to create a better video as opposed to being the correct recordings chronologically... happens all the time in live performances regardless of the band... and for the record QOTSA are not a band to fake or pre-record because 'it'll look good'

Some type of Wurlitzer electric piano, i would guess its the 200a, but im not sure because the logo doesn't seem to match..
