- On Tuesday 16th April 2024, steam locomotive BB18 ¼ 1037 was fired up for a day of checks and to make the locomotive ready for its eventual return to the mainline in the coming weeks.
The day culminated with several runs up and down the yard track to check out the operation of the newly adjusted brakes.
Thanks to all the people who have restored this magnificent locomotive your effortds are really appreciated
Thanks for recording some of the lighting up process! I don't know why but find it really interesting seeing how the loco is brought to life and prepared!
So awesome to see our ex Mackay 1037 finally running again. I'm from Mackay and can't wait to come down and take a trip!
just found your channel and really impressed with the restoration work done. it's great to see a product from the Vulcan works in Newton-Le-Willows still operational as I live 5 miles away from where the factory was and drove past it many times.
Thanks for your interest. She is the sole surviving member of the Vulcan batch of this class.
Assistindo e admirando o serviço. Recife, Brasil.
I can't wait to see this a video of this steam train doing a test run to wyreema with the sx cars will you record it if it will do a text run to wyreema???
I'll be there for its mainline testing.
Great video. Like me
I am just wondering if the Line to Pittsworth and beyond is suitable for this heavier Pacific class Loco.
I think the line is suitable for this type of locomotive.
Is 106 broken down or just having routine maintenance done
Just some routine maintenance.
Are they going to put the generator for the front head lamp back on 1037
Yes, It's being overhauled at the moment.
Any idea on when it will be ready gor the main line?, awesome to see it in steam
There's no firm date yet, there's still a number of things to finalise on the loco before its mainline debut.
@@paul1089 fair enough, great to see them make so much progress, first with 106 and now BB18, thanks for uploading
Do they by chance have 1037's number plates? I don't doubt they do, just couldn't find them in my last visit.
They do, but they are getting some replicas cast like they did with 106.
I can see why the engine keeps going backwards and forwards every time
