I was okay with the Maitlands not being in BJBJ because the actors are nearly 40 years older now and ghosts don't age. If they put Davis and Baldwin in this one, you KNOW they would have been de-aged and it would have looked horrible.
@@Jacob_Walsh Yeah kind of, I suppose. But that character always looked intentionally pretty rough. Yeah we can see his wrinkles in 4K now, but he basically looks the same.
After ghostbusters and ninja turtles I'd have to say beetlejuice was my 3rd love when i was a kid , watched the movie many many times like yourself Craig at a young age . I played with all the beetlejuice toys a lot also. Used to love the vanishing vault , the beetlejuice car was great aswell.
I actually feel this was a stronger film than the original,I didn't feel the script was difficult to follow at all , everything converged at the end satisfactorily for me
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice suffers from the same problem as Ghostbusters Frozen Empire. It's overstuffed with too many characters and too many subplots. Consequently the film suffers from a lack of focus. It doesn't allow the time and space that any one subplot needs in order to breath or be fully explored. There are just too many unnecessary things packed into the suitcase. I don't know why film makers can't just keep it simple. I think simplicity and simple storytelling is severely undervalued and underappreciated in Hollywood these days. Simplicity is a good quality to have, especially when it comes to storytelling. Some of the best films ever made are very simple stories at heart.
@@GavStaR79 Exactly. If you have a focused script with fewer characters, plotlines, locations, special effects etc not only does it make for a focused, pacier film, it also saves a lot of money in the production costs. It's down to studio mismanagement. A talented producer should be able to read a script and cut out anything which is superfluous to the story.
As far as legacy movies go I feel this worked a hell of a lot better than the new Ghostbusters movie ,that really felt messy and extraneous in its plot.
I thought it was somewhat average. 6/10 for me. I enjoyed it, but there were too many missteps, and my GOD that final song and dance sequence NEVER ENDED. Plus I absolutely despise that song. Still, it was fun if a little boring at times.
I thought Winona was great ,she is a different Lydia that felt she had to grow up at some stage of her relationships ,then lost sight of herself. I doubt agree she's a bad actress ,she's been great in Stranger Things.
@36:14 Why are you upset that the studio posted it? Get upset at YOURSELF for watching it! You are the one that ruined the surprise, not the studio. I make it a point NOT to watch any trailers or preview clips (except for the 1 teaser trailer), so that I can go into the movie not knowing a thing. And the experience is wonderous as a result! But people are too anxious and greedy and want to see everything before the movie comes out and then they complain after.
The level of friendship here is admirable.

But beetlejuice aged.

Beetlejuice the Animated Series was a complete success without the Maitlands. The Maitlands are not as important as the Deetz.
“Aliens F***ing Exist!” And great episode! Waited until I saw Beetlejuice before I watched this lol

Poor Winona Ryder, so many non-actors telling her she can’t act 😅 I’d retort that she acted SO well, she made it look like she wasn’t acting 🎭😉

Pumpkin spice donuts at Dunkin are fireeeee.
You need to try the pear cider at the WWOHP.

And cheaper too if you narrow down your focus. I simply don't get it either.
