I really wish all moms and dads would watch your channel before going on a Disney trip because your whole family is such a wonderful example of the perfect mindset to be in when going to any amusement park. So positive, open to new experiences; and realistic about stress & anxiety with great coping mechinisms for when plans go awry. Its really a pleasure to watch two parents create happy memories with their son that will last a lifetime. Miles is an angel and I bet that it's because his parents are so excellent!
I totally agree. I see so many kids having the worst day of their lives being dragged around the parks with none of their needs being met. It makes me smile to see how these guys do it 😊

This has always been a tradition for our daughter and me. I believe our smallest has been a size 4 and our largest has been a 9. We will eventually use these pearls for her wedding jewelry.
I am really starting to appreciate Disney cast members so much as I continue to follow your adventures PPP. When I went to Disneyland back in 2021, I told a few of them how much I have appreciated them throughout all these years and their hard work gets stronger by the day. I recall my parents & I doing that type of pearl thing way back in the 80s. I want to say it was either at Disneyland or maybe at Knotts Berry Farm. And when I had to go through all 40+ years of my parents belongings back in 2011 - 2013 I actually found it in my Moms jewelry box. It was still in the little plastic baggie, but there was no date on it as to when we got it. That cast member who was helping you she was so awesome. And the 3 of you are awesome too.

I used to train people to do the pick a pearl job and if they help you pick it’s because they know which one has a big Pearl, black Pearl, double Pearl, etc as they can have a mark or little staple in them. Every oyster has a Pearl guaranteed. It’s FUN!!! Please know you can always ask right away that you do NOT want it drilled. They drill right away because the real money is made selling you a piece of jewelry to mount it on. I would hire this girl in a second because we must hire people who are FUN. That’s crucial!!!
My Japanese friend used to work at WDW in the Japan area and later at Disney Sea. She got my daughter Merida’s signature when my daughter was very into Merida (10 years ago).

Growing up in San Diego in the 80's I remember that Sea World had Japanese pearl divers who would dive for oysters and hand them to you. You would then have them opened to retrieve your pearl.
I have a good hack for when in the parks on a rainy day, when you have a Disney plastic shopping bag, turn it inside out so the dye doesn’t get all over your clothes when it gets wet.
Rainy weather, for Disneyland, is a bonus. It makes the experience so unique, and I know a lot of people (mostly AP holders) who make a special trip there if rain is in the forecast.

Chris the white birds fly into the disney trees for the night. Ive seen them here, at AK when you cross the bridge leaving and also all over discovery island by Ft Wilderness. They know the safest place to sleep 😊 Also our sunsets are so beautiful because of the sand being blown here from the Sahara Desert up in our atmosphere. Right now there is a lot it blowing over us which has thankfully kept and potential hurricane from forming. Disney sky looks like a beautiful painting and you got to see one of our finest sunsets 🥰
I can't remember if I told you guys this already but I went to Florida WDW once when I was 21 (?I think I was about 21) and it was during Hurricae Georger which Orlando saw just the tail end of but the news was telling everyone to board up their windows. It wasnt too bad after all and didn't end up being as dangerous as they thought it might be but I remember being in Magic Kingdon and the rain was so strong that you could barely see a few feet in front of you. People were literally running for cover with their arms flailing around and screaming like in a movie. We are from Vancouver, which is technically considered a mild rain forest, so for us we were in heaven. Warm rain! It was beautiful! And we are very used to rain and lots of it here. They closed a lot of rides but some still ran and we were able to walk right on all of them. It was awesome! Anyway, I just wanted to tell you my little WDW adventure. I love your pearl so much, its so pretty. The colour! So lucky! The drink, food and desserts looked good too, I think I would have been all over the strawberry bar and I thought it was cute that you ate it upside down! Ha ha! Loved that Amanda, of all treats, chose popcorn because, well if she had picked something else we would have wondered if it was really Amanda or an imposter and Miles chocolate mouth was hilarious! Such a jokster! Thanks again for sharing your adventure with us and welcoming us all into your world. YOU ARE ALL AMAZING!! 💚💙💚

I went to Epcot Thurs for a couple hrs and actually hung out for awhile in China and then went to Germany to get the best treat on Disney property..that caramel popcorn! How crazy is that lol. I looked for you guys but darn you weren't there on Thurs. 😊 I'm so happy they brought the pearls back to Japan. The girl who opened miles oyster was sooo sweet! I have over 20 lol. I have all of the colors as last year I finally got a blue pearl( I’d gotten them before but ended up feeling bad for the people in my groups that didn’t get them and being rare I knew they probably wouldn’t have the chance to get one) I have sizes ranging from 6 all the way up to an 8. It’s something I do every time we go, and I also get at least one fan from the Japan pavilion every time.
Looks like you guys had a fun time doing the pick a pearl. What an experience too. Making good family memories. I never had a chance to do that at EPCOT, but I was able to do something similar at SeaWorld in Ohio years ago.

My wife and I both got pearls when we were there! Mine was 7 3/4 and pink, her's was 7 1/4 and green. They were so much fun! I'm sad we didn't get them seated while we were there though, nowhere in Reno does it ;_;

In the 70s in Southern California, there used to be a theam park Japanese Village, and you could get a pearl the same way.

My daughter does pick a pearl every trip. Pearl is her birth stone. Last time she got a double! The secret is to look for a really thick one.

Dear Chris and Amanda, if you are still thinking about going to the Efteling park I am more than happy to show you around. It has been my home themapark for over 30 years and I have been many times. I can tell you a bit about the history and show you around the park. My wife and I both got pearls when we were there! Mine was 7 3/4 and pink, her's was 7 1/4 and green. They were so much fun! I'm sad we didn't get them seated while we were there though, nowhere in Reno does it ;_;
