In case you wanted to know what Calvus's awakening was, he's said to be a Savant by Vetex. Yeah. Calvus kicks ass and he's a SAVANT.
Idk if an player as savant even in the future can bombard you better then a mage in the future. Especially with Aether magic as a lost or ancient magic costing tons of magic stat to learn probably.
I heard somewhere he was calculated to be level 350ish, I think it was a video about him vs the marine boss

The only "unbalanced" thing about king calvus is the fact that he can movestack and parry atacks wille charging atacks but that also counts for ALL the bosses in arcane odyssey the only thing that really makes him hard is the fact that he can teleport out of your vision and charge his insta kill move wicht is what kills most New players but if you can track him dow and Dodge most of his moveset you can solo him of course he is not easily farmable like al the other bosses but you CAN solo him
also bosses not being able to be grabbed is just annoying

There are actually technically 2 goons stronger than Calvus. The assassin Architect and the Marine Commodore.
The 5 explosive barrels in question
Commdore kai being harder is debateable since all he’s got is his sabre, merlotz is definitely stronger tho with his 150 damage per hit beast instinct

all you need to find out is that you can literally parry every single hella telegraphed move and can dodge the one shot by attacking and dashing as soon as it deals dmg
I've farmed this boss on 6 different slots over 100 times each, it really is not that hard, people make it out like it's the next malenia or some shit
I had so much trouble with this boss, especially how the boss before him wasn’t all that hard even. I went in there with my hopes up, hit him with a singular ball off magma, and died to like 2 attacks.

Most people loose their shit over king calvus as they don't know his attack methods and cycles he follows, like him dashing around a few times before he uses an attack. I've played the game a lot and through all of them I find Elius a much more difficult boss to deal with at the time of meeting him than calvus, despite the challenge calvus proposes
elius is more difficult at the time you meet him because he’s the first real difficult boss, his difficulty is completely unexpected when you first get to him. with calvus, you’re already used to the bosses having some bullshit mechanics, so you kinda know what to expect when you first get to him
@@Meri637 that is an excellent point sir. I also find his second phase form very obnoxious with the weather in play, but i think what you have said is the primary reason for this. Mind you, fighting styles usually make this boss a joke thanks to crash
Idk man, Lord Elius is easier for me than King Calvus. Maybe that's just me, but imo he is easier and have more intuitive pattern

and then you have minibosses:

*seamonster noise*
and then random npcs out of nowhere hit you once for half your health
i fought one of my friend's rivals cause i found them by complete accident, and i nearly got 2-tapped by his berserker rival
the real final boss are the gun main level 200 outlaw npcs with aimbot.
i like how he cut out him getting out of the cave it probably took him longer to find the exit than to beat calvus

I had some trouble when I first fought him, but after fighting him some times, I observed some patterns and uh... It got ez.

It'll be hard a few times but as soon as you learn what his attacks does, he becomes infinitely less intimidating. Look up a tutorial on him and he'll be a cakewalk eventually

Good job! This boss can be tough if you can't expect his attacks, though one thing worth noting is that you should just dodge his big one shot explosion after you hit him. Also, making your multi hit 2 or 3 hits Max's helps get extra damage without being stuck for years and potentially missing tons as well.
Eclipse you should probably get some better armour by killing bosses (also enchant it using alchemists or the dude that joined your crew), i recommend farming lord elius or argos since they both give good buffs.
You can easily solo with just full iron armor nothing else
honestly the grind is too big, he can just ask his fans for armor.

When you're far enough away from the aether pillar attack, the damage doesn't register, but during second phase that move charges quicker and it also has a shockwave in the end that blasts you away from the epicenter of the attack, which this shockwave still does register in the form of pushing you away. As for his normal projectiles, only way to kill him past that is to just parry it
by the way fun fact: you can kill him easily by throwing an old dagger at him lmao
Why shift lock zoomed in? Best way to play imo is all the way zoomed out with shiftlock disabled

I wish I wasn't so laggy at this game, I probably would've been able to beat all bosses by simply just trying over and over again...but I just can with Elius.
I love that Eclipse was just confused with Prince Revon fight, memes aside, I was like that too. When the fight started I was ready to tryhard by jumping, spamming my projectiles and dashing immediately after...then I realized that the guy wasn't doing anything LOL.
I did this fight with a Warlock build, and oh my god... Pure hell.
yeah any melee weapon is usless against him. If you are going for weapons then hiding on the stairs and using a gun is the only option.

Surprisingly, Eclipse took this battle a lot more lightly then I did when I first played. I literally restarted a file over this nonsense because I was so severely lost. Eh, Berserker was painful to play anyways so maybe it was a good choice

about the attack where he charges and aims up, hitting him interupts it and makes him shoot it early, doing WAY less damage, you cant really avoid it so hit him ASAP and HOLD BLOCK! it mitigates most of the damage it deals! absolute lifesaver

If anyone in here is struggling with calvus (or any boss to be honest) just use ranged weapons, guns work the best (I would recommend dual flintlocks) but any range attack like dagger throw, guns, bows etc will work. Just keep your distance and attack when he charges up the nuke
Heya, I don’t know what pace you’re playing at but I would like to inform you about the awakening system if you aren’t already.
Your awakening effect varies based on your stat allocations.
-mage (pure magic or magic/vit) gets a second magic with a higher point requirement.
-juggernaut or berserker (strength eq of above) gets a fighting style slot.
-savant (15% allocation in each attacking stat) will get one of the above with a far less steep requirement, based on if strength or magic is higher.
Those first 3 awakenings are all pretty simple, but it gets more interesting when weapons and dual stats are involved.
-knight (pure wep) will get a special buff called “weapon aura”. Right now it grants 33% size, however next patch it is being changed to give a power increase, granting debuffs on weapons without them and an upgraded bleed called “gouge”.
(It’s probably gonna be the best build for a while lol)
-conjuror (weapon/magic which can be split anywhere from 40-60 to 50/50) will imbue your magic effects onto your weapons. For most this will mean a minor damage decrease, with the benefit of whatever unique attributes your magic has.
In your case (if you’re eligible for conjuror) your weapons will gain light imbuement, getting the harshest damage reduction but the highest travel speed and instantaneous startup. It’s actually quite unique in that regard. (And you will apply light blind, lol)
Warlock (magic / strength, same parameters) will gain the same effect. Light’s instant startup property actually doesn’t work on it, though.
Warlord (strength / weapon, same parameters) will gain the ability to infuse fighting styles into their weapons, resulting in the carrying over of properties OR a damage increase. Iron leg is recommended.
how to beat calvus, turn on shift lock and zoom out. dash after you attack the part where he does the part where he holds one of his hands up cause thats the insanely large aoe that makes your blood boil, repeat that until calvus is dead

Even worse nightmare is fighting Merlotz the waltz of death on equal ground without plasma and fire magic to burn him to death. His clouds do 60 damage and his alt turns the ground into a death field

The real hardest boss isn't even a story boss ( talking about having a legit fight with the Architect Merlot without tricks like gunpowder ).
His damage is crazy and you're forced to fight him in a little cave where he can also fill the whole area with poison clouds.

you forgot about prince revon his first phase starts off pretty okay he slashes at you at hypersonic speeds and deals moderate damage and does beams of light that blind you but the nonsense happens at phase 2 where he is able to summon copies of him that also do the same damage and inflict blindness which is practically impossible to beat then he has an attack where he instantly teleports behind you and kick you to the ground opening you up for any of his moves this also stuns for 3 seconds (Why?) its pretty weird eclipse didn't consider him the hardest boss also on top of that stun move he also can nullify your attacks and then do the damage you did to him with an aoe??? and there's no indicator for when he can nullify the attacks this boss is just pain in every way possible and i hate him please give him some justice he deserves to be the hardest boss in arcane odyssey
