Wow very surprised with the negative traction comments, guess I got a good pair with the friends edition, superb traction, lockdown, front foot cushion, ankle support, perfect fit for me.
The moment I stepped in these at the store I knew they were the ones for me! Hooped last night in them and they are everything for a guard! The cushion, the lockdown, toe box space, traction, I immediately realized I had a winner. Went from PG 2.5 and Lebron 15’s.

I have them as IDs and yes in the beginning the traction was trash they are translucent btw (and I play on hardwood that gets cleaned every day). But they do break in and now traction for me is amazing. Being the first kyrie shoe I've played in as an explosive forward I was pleasantly surprised. Great review tho💯

ive had mine for about a month now, and i agree the traction fresh off the box was HORRIBLE. it's my first xdr pair so i believe that has something to do with the breaking in of the outsole. right now though, the traction has been holding up pretty well after hooping in them about 6-7 times.
They had forefoot zoom in the Kyrie 1 though

Kyrie 3 is has always been my main go to, my 3s are beat to the barebones, been using the PG 2. Personally not a fan of the Pg 2s, the kyrie 5 might be the next shoe to cop

If the courts are dusty the traction isn’t that good, it’s takes awhile for them to break in. That’s why they worked better on some courts bc the dust was minimal.

For me, traction is good, but picks up a bit of dust, making me do quick wipes

This just my personal experience but I also bought a Kyrie 4 last year and The traction was very off at first but after I used it a couple times outdoor the traction just got better on it’s own
I had no problems with the traction it was great, I never slipped
I had the same traction issue with the BHM Kyrie 5, so i returned them to Nike. I got the Bred 5s from Footlocker and it was better. I had to try again because 5 other people on the court had the 5s on and they weren't having an issue at all. My Bred 5s are better but the PG 3s were better traction-wise. Similar pattern to the Why Not 0.2s
My traction has been great with these.

it depends, the traction is bad if your on a bad court, also if u are on a bad court with bad traction make sure to wipe your grip every time u slip
Works best for quick guards who prefer court feel over impact protection
At first the traction was trash for me. But after breaking them in and i mean really breaking them in because it took a long time for me to do it. The traction was very solid. I think the traction requires a longer break in time.

I had issues with the traction initially. After break in time for the traction, they feel great. I wore em outside once casually, thinking maybe that’s what you should try. See if that helps

I’m a size 9 but I got 10, so I would go Half size up or something like that.
Stay true to size. It might look small at first. Play for few weeks. It breaks in. I made the same mistake going half size up and I switched it back to my size. Now it feels great.
I didn't like my Kyrie 5's either, to be completely honest where the 5 failed the 4 excelled, mainly the reason why after giving up on trying to break in my 5's traction I found myself in the 4's once again.
Was the floor dusty? Mine have amazing traction, but I have to wipe them down a few times a game. It seems as soon as there is dust on the sole they lose the traction.
Clean and wipe the floor, I play in 3 of my pairs of 5’s and they work good all the time 👍🏽

I have the Kyrie 5 friends but there's his little lump in the mid-foot and I don't know if that's regular or something but it's pretty weird.
