Nice job getting the old Mac on the internet! You’re making me want to dust off my old computers. I’ve got an Apple IIe platinum and a Ti-99/4a that are collecting dust in my house right now. Good job on the video.
Thank you! I was hoping we would get more content and I’m quite happy about it.
Dude really cool, I've always curious about the "layers" but I couldn't never understand them properly. Now i have a clearer understanding of how it works. Nice video!
I'm so happy to see you posting I've missed your amazing content
you're still alive!
glad you are back!!!
love your videos
Glad to have you back!
Glad to see you again. This is a beautiful video, thank you.

Nice to watch a deep, but articulate delivery of a subject~
I literally just checked your channel last night wondering if you were dead or quit or something. Good to have you back
This was one of the best explanation of how the internet works.
Glad to see you back :)
I was literally googling "what happened to The Science Elf" today lmao
Actually amazing m8, worth the wait
I know this blocked me for a while during my education, for those that are wondering what is meant by "layer":
When solving big problems, it's a good idea to break it down into smaller problems, right? So, you could say you're breaking the down the monolithic challenge into "blocks". This helps engineers visualize and even make diagrams for every challenge they have to face. A "layer" is type of "block" where the direct interaction is largely limited to the other directly above or bellow it. For example: If you had layers A, B and C. A cannot communicate with C without going through B.
It's important to note that blocks can be broken down further or packed together. It's up to the analyst to break it down as much as they (and their colleagues) need to and no further. So, it's no suprise that a layer addresses multiple problems but what the name implies is not lost. The blocks inside of (composing) the layer are limited to interact with the ones within the same layer or the others from the layers directly above and bellow it. Since layers can be composed of other blocks, it's no surprise that you can find "sublayers" (layers within layers).
Anw... "layers" and "blocks" (aka packages, modules and/or objects) are essential components of the jargon we use to visually represent problems and solutions. If it still isn't clear to you, don't feel too bad. It takes practice for the author to get a "feel" for how his ideas should be divided up into words, sentences, paragraphs and so on. There's no "perfect" way to do this. That's why I like to think of problem solving as an art sometimes.
Glad you're back!
This was actually very clear
Nice to have you back!
Just as he came back, he faded again :/
Love your videos man!
Well explained, very detailed. Thanks!
Yay, found this channel again. Its been so long!

Intro: oh! The Video looks a lot bettet than it used to be on this channel.
Few secs later: ahh yes, my favorite shitty mic is back!!
This would have been useful when I tried to certify in computer networking in 2 weeks... nice work.
You're finally back I feel like crying
12:25/12:27 - hmmm, do I sense an oblique reference to RFC 1606? :)
Nice summary. And it's somehow kinda cool to me that you went with the 4-layer model, rather than the 7-layer OSI model (or its extension to 9 layers, though that's fun, too. ;) )... though a passing reference to the idea that there exist other models for thinking about these layers might have been useful to some. Anyway, good stuff.
Please come back dude, we miss you.
There are no words in the English language that can explain how happy I am to see this video. I honestly thought you were dead. I was so worried. I don't know what's going on in your personal life I'm just happy that you're back. 2020 sucks but science elf is back. And that's awesome.
